I find myself putting !s on statements is sometimes the only way to indicate that they're sarcastic. Dry, sarcastic wit doesn't really translate to text and can be interpreted as being mean if that ! isn't there.

For some reason, the only way I can use an exclamation mark is with a question mark or several attached (cf - WTF?!)

My ex used to write me lengthy emails including exclamation marks at the end of every sentence! Just like this! Towards the end it annoyed me to a quite ridiculous extent!

I have just had something I wrote on ILM which would have been much better if I had overused exclamation marks taken apart and exclamation marked by Old Fart!!! so this thread is a timely top of the answer board for me (!)

I hate them. I think I use them either too much or not at all. I will, however, be using the word "feeb" and "assclownery" as much as I can.
