Inspired by nordicskillz post here Carnival Strippers

From friends I've received William Eggleston's Guide, the original Diane Arbus book, The Art of Looking Sideways and two bottles of Crown Royal.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Monday, 22 December 2003 03:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I got the Carnival Strippers book (signed!), an iTrip, some Super 8 film, a shirt with a cactus on it, a year's subscription to Film Comment, a stuffed moose, and some hot chocolate.

More to come later this week.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Monday, 22 December 2003 03:58 (twenty-two years ago)

FYI the book was signed by Susan Meiselas, not an actual real-life honest to god carnival stripper...

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Monday, 22 December 2003 03:58 (twenty-two years ago)

So far: a paid livejournal account, dinner including gumbo and an Oreo milkshake, and the Bruce Lee dvd boxset from my girlfriend. My dad and stepmom are going to fix my car for Chanukah.

xpost, that's unfortunate.

The Threepenny Opera original cast recording
Look Homeward, Angel by Thomas Wolfe
a book on the history of the OED
Charles Ives Symphonies Number 1 & 4
Shostakovich Symphony #11
a digital camera.

Ian Johnson (orion), Monday, 22 December 2003 04:02 (twenty-two years ago)

That's pretty sweet, Ian. Is the OED book that 'The Professor & the Madman' one?

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 22 December 2003 04:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I haven't received it yet, but my parents are giving my a ToyoView 45CX view camera. I think they've finally given up on me studying business or something that will support them in their old age.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Monday, 22 December 2003 04:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I wish my parents would realize that! :(

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Monday, 22 December 2003 04:05 (twenty-two years ago)

phil-two (phil-two), Monday, 22 December 2003 04:09 (twenty-two years ago)

My grandmother used to give me that EVERY YEAR. So predictable.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Monday, 22 December 2003 04:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 22 December 2003 04:26 (twenty-two years ago)

fiddo centington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 22 December 2003 04:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I ask YOU, Mor-TON Kon-DRACK-e!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 22 December 2003 04:31 (twenty-two years ago)

A guitar! And some chocolate. Oh, a t-shirt too. I'm not likely to get very much else, I don't think. My friends are all poor and we have an understanding. My family already gave me a guitar, so.

JuliaA (j_bdules), Monday, 22 December 2003 06:10 (twenty-two years ago)

That's pretty sweet, Ian. Is the OED book that 'The Professor & the Madman' one?

Noooo! But I've read that, and this one is by the same author. Creepy fuck, he is--no one should be /that/ interested in the OED.

Ian Johnson (orion), Monday, 22 December 2003 06:14 (twenty-two years ago)

We don't exchange gifts. I'll still get something from my future parents in law, namely a gift certifcate for Diesel. I still have to use that book 'n' CD cert they gave me a couple of months ago.

Big box of booze from my dad to make up for working over christmas.

Ed (dali), Monday, 22 December 2003 08:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I got Season 3 Futurama box set from my boyfriend, which we've already watched half of this weekend, and my best friend gave me this amazing Chinese calligraphy set, one where you get the grinding stone, solid ink stick, little ceramic water bowl with a tiny spoon, and a set of really cool brushes. I'll have to learn how to paint pandas and bamboo and shit now.

More to come I assume when I get to my parents place and xmas day arriveth.
