I am 15 and a guy has asked me out (who is 20) do you think this is too much of an age gap. I don't really know him that well (we have only spoken once) however he seems nice.
Some advice please.
Thankyou!

depends on what state/province/municipality you live in.

No, I don't think so.

to restate: maybe not too old for you, but probably too old for whatever legal authority there is where you live.

But he's just asked her out, that's all, hstencil.

Oh sure, I doubt a 20 year-old male has anything prurient on his mind.

hstencil, Tuesday, 23 December 2003 08:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Hah! I thought you would say that. And I must concede the point.

well I'm speaking from experience: when I was 20, I dated a 17 year-old.

hstencil, Tuesday, 23 December 2003 08:37 (twenty-two years ago)

the experience of dating, not going to jail for statutory rape, that is.

hstencil, Tuesday, 23 December 2003 08:37 (twenty-two years ago)

ask yourself what is *wrong with* the 20 year old that he seeks to date a 15 year old.
what could his motivations be? make a list. check it twice.

Geez. Is it really that big a gap? And if he were 16, wouldn't he been just as, well, male?

I need to come clean here. I am biased. My girlfriend is six years my junior. However, I am 36. Hahaha! What if I'd met her when I was twenty-one and she'd said, 'oops, now way old fella, you're too old'? We'd have both missed out on real love.

dude, a 20 year old human is very different from a 15 year old human.
when you are younger, the "gap" is not just numbers, it's developmental.

Orbit (Orbit), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 08:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Orbit is very much OTM. My current girlfriend is 17 years my senior, btw.

hstencil, Tuesday, 23 December 2003 08:56 (twenty-two years ago)

and uh had I met her when I was five, well you get my drift surely.

hstencil, Tuesday, 23 December 2003 08:58 (twenty-two years ago)

or 15 even.

The British destroyed old Jerry Lee Lewis for marrying a teenager... "Oh, it's his first cousin and now he's drowned her in a pool! Oh!"

Prudes.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 22:31 (twenty-two years ago)

You use '4' in place of 'for'=he is too old for you

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 22:32 (twenty-two years ago)

what if he's prince? or sly stone?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 22:33 (twenty-two years ago)

unless he's prince

(hahaha xpost)

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 23 December 2003 22:33 (twenty-two years ago)
