That stupid looking old guy/Guy With the Scarf/sonic screwdriver/etc. "seems" to have the answer for everything----note the quotation marks on the word seems.....I think he is a fraud and has no idea of what he is talking about...he has all the Time Lords snowed....your opinions?

I think the character and his 'concept' are brilliant....but i can't bear to watch the show! Just bad effects and general silliness.
But the character is just waiting to have a great existensial novel written about him that ditches most of the SF ephemera, something along the lines of 'Dark Knight Returns' or a better example i can't think of.

I had a Spanish teacher in high school who was REALLY INTO DR. WHO. He even played the Dr. Who cardgame. He was the same teacher who ran the afterschool Magic: The Gathering/Middle Earth CCG/Boardgames/Chess/etc. club. Creeeeepy. But he was really into Fugazi and Sonic Youth for some reason; he actually turned me on to a lot of great music. Husker Du as well.

To be fair he's not saying that Dr Who specifically is evil, but material possessions, TV, the meeja, etc... It's just that the show is main thing that connects him to all this badness. Still fucking crackers tho, obvs.
