My father's side of the family always eats Swedish food on Christmas Eve.

My mother's side of the family eats latkes, brisket and applesauce on one of the nights of Hannukah (the night during which we see the rest of the family.)

My mother seems to have a strange Ferrero Roche fixation at christmas. Doesn't go anywhere near them during the rest of the year, but at christmas they're like pringles to a stoner.

yup. My mom makes caramel pudding, as a handed down recipe. Other folks and other relatives have tried it to mixed satisfaction, but we love the stuff.
