This is the thread where we ask Sam how NetZero is working out for her.

How's NetZero working out for you, Sam? I am thinking of making the switch ... AOL is just too, too evil.

You can also ask other people how Netzero is working out for them. Or how their service provider -- whatever it is -- is working out for them. Hey, is anyone actually HAPPY with their service provider? Maybe there's a thread on that already though. And maybe I should be sleeping instead of on ILE.

How do you knowI'm on Netzero?

oh the email . .I am a retard.

i was just thinking of my birthday night when I was slugging tequila straight from the bottle and apparently called Sarah M. bitching about Netzero. (it was really my old ass phone line that dropped me that night.)

It's fine. I'd like to have a high speed connection (like cable modem) but that shit ain't available in the hood.

Generally I have no problems or complaints with Netzero.

I'm on Charter broadband; it's pretty cool. They refuse to give their customer lists to the RIAA too.

Charter? I am intrigued and titillated as I know naught about this Charter of which you speak. Though I don't have cable and thus am condemned to dial-up frustration for the time being.

Jewelly if you are still in New Orleans the BellSouth DSL is very reliable and like 40 or 50 bucks a month. Cable modems seem like kind of a hassle.

Forty or fifty bucks a month. Therein lies the crux of my dilemma.

Among many annoying things about AOL, one of the worst is how much trouble it is to cancel. After sitting on hold for 9 years, you get to talk to a customer service person who will not cancel you until they've pushed several special offers on you as incentive to keep subbing to AOL.

It sucks. When I tried to cancel a few months ago, they offered me two free months (which I took -- what the hell, you know? Free is good) to stay and then tried to get me change my long distance provider over to Sprint for another free month (I hung up right in the middle of the Sprint salesman's spiel).

After my free months run out, I'm cancelling again. When they try to talk me back into staying, I think I'll tell them I'm cancelling because I'm going to prison or something. That might shut them up.

[sorry]

i'm way-happy with my ISP now after not getting around to changing for nearly 2 years' overpriced mediocre service with the competition. Now paying $15NZ/month instead of $30 & also, as expected the mysterious connection problems that were Propably Faults With My Computer Or Phoneline have all stopped! [& petrajane.com's host is on their cable service & so far no complaints from me there, either]

petra jane (petra jane), Saturday, 27 December 2003 22:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I just got Comcast cable internet for only $25/month for the first SIX (yay!) months, then something like $45/month thereafter. It's wicked fast, like 300 kbps (downloads a megabyte in 3 secs); and now Comcast announces they're speeding up connections in the DFW area!

I do not care if you have to whore yourself -- braodband is WORTH IT. AOL was destroying my very soul.
