I just sold a whole bunch of my CDs on Ebay and Amazon and I don't feel any better for it

...Not even that much wealthier. I actually feel like I've drowned my children or something.

I don't recommend this.

But they had to go. :(

East Bay Crackhaus (nordicskilla), Monday, 19 January 2004 03:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I also sold a perfectly good shotgun mic that I might have been able to use. These are desperate times indeed.

East Bay Crackhaus (nordicskilla), Monday, 19 January 2004 03:35 (twenty-two years ago)

They're only cds. They're intended to be disposable, so take that money and invest in a real format.

may pang (maypang), Monday, 19 January 2004 03:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I need that money to eat!

East Bay Crackhaus (nordicskilla), Monday, 19 January 2004 03:36 (twenty-two years ago)

But I've compromised the "well-roundedness" of my collection by selling all the crap that nonetheless had some sentimental value.

East Bay Crackhaus (nordicskilla), Monday, 19 January 2004 03:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh see now why did you sell the mic? What kind was it? You have any other audio stuff?

ModJ (ModJ), Monday, 19 January 2004 03:39 (twenty-two years ago)

It was a Sennheiser 300 for Mini DV. No, I don't have any other audio stuff.

East Bay Crackhaus (nordicskilla), Monday, 19 January 2004 03:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't say I've ever had any sentimental attachment to cds which is probably why so many of them got sold if I was ever short on cash and needed to buy a pack of smokes or something. Records, on the other hand..

may pang (maypang), Monday, 19 January 2004 03:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh well. I would have bought that. How much did it go for?

ModJ (ModJ), Monday, 19 January 2004 03:41 (twenty-two years ago)

i took a boxload of really good shit* to my local second hand shop and the guy looked at it and said i don't know any of this i'll give you a hundred bucks. and i said no thanks.

see there was no doors or john farnham in there.

mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 19 January 2004 03:42 (twenty-two years ago)

$140. Not bad, seeing as I stole it from a place where I used to work.

(x-post)

I find unloading cds kind of freeing. I think I am one of those 12 cds people at heart, it's just there always revolving.

...Except when you want to play a certain disc and remember that you sold the bloody thing ages ago...

you will forget about them in two weeks

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Monday, 19 January 2004 07:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Thought that read, "I also sold a perfectly good shotgun that I might have been able to use." @d@m, it's not that desperate...

Chuck Tatum (Chuck Tatum), Monday, 19 January 2004 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm moving (to a bigger apt, ironically) and have removed very near to 200 CDs from their brethren for disposal.
Some of them are even not-total-wastes-of-time/space, but failed to be played during the last two years and so must go. I'm a cruel mistress.
Have also pulled a full (3-shelf) bookcase's worth of books.

I don't know that I'm going to sell them. I could use the money, yes, but I may just donate them to a number of charity/youth groups. That way I don't have to see the true (small) value of these things I've hitched so many of my dreams on, and I get to feel smug for doing something philanthropic.

Luigi Vampa (Horace Mann), Monday, 19 January 2004 16:30 (twenty-two years ago)

next time you're gonna sell something like that mic you let me know first sir!

s1ocki (slutsky), Tuesday, 20 January 2004 04:41 (twenty-two years ago)

(my shotgun mic is kinda fucked)

s1ocki (slutsky), Tuesday, 20 January 2004 04:42 (twenty-two years ago)

gaz i trust the lack of john farnham in your to sell box is due to your refusal to part with the treasured works of the man
