donna (donna), Monday, 19 January 2004 06:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I've just been skiing and I'm not very good at it!

mookieproof (mookieproof), Monday, 19 January 2004 06:59 (twenty-two years ago)

hi donna,

I am well but I have not gone to a gig yet. Nor have I seen 'lost in translation'. Must do both soon. I have gone to a couple of FAPs and that is always nice.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Monday, 19 January 2004 12:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I am doing better, thank you. 2004 is looking better day by day. :-)

nathalie (nathalie), Monday, 19 January 2004 12:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey Donna, how are you & yours lovely?

Have had a bit of a rough time of things lately. The house has completely fallen through (don't get me started - fuxors) which was pretty tough after all this time. We've lost a bit of money which we could have done without. Still, we are gonna give it a bit of time & then get right back on it. I am not looking forward to all the stress again though.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 19 January 2004 12:37 (twenty-two years ago)

poor pinky. I got engaged.

teeny (teeny), Monday, 19 January 2004 13:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Hooray, lucky Teeny! yay pretty lady! ;-)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 19 January 2004 13:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Pinky - I suggest you bill the people who tried to rip you off for lawyer and survey fees.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 19 January 2004 13:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I wish that would work. Sadly they are well within their right to do what they have done. That's why the UK house buying system is so shite. In Scotland, when you agree to buy the house initially, you are then bound. In the UK, you are not bound by anything until you exchange contracts, even though you will have spent money on lawyers & search fees to get to the exchange point. It completly suxor the big fat one!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 19 January 2004 13:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Do it anyway, it'll make you feel better.

Markelby (Mark C), Monday, 19 January 2004 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

*sigh*

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 19 January 2004 14:13 (twenty-two years ago)

good. found a new apt and need to find a roommate but that shouldn't be a problem. trying to get this review written, have been for a few hours, sort of slowly attempting to hatch it like an egg. should knock off the 100-word book review also due today--think I'll do that right now.

M Matos (M Matos), Monday, 19 January 2004 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

pinkpanther - when did Scotland stop being part of the UK? Have I missed something?

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 19 January 2004 14:16 (twenty-two years ago)

OK, please replace UK for England for fear that I may offend. Jeez!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 19 January 2004 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm a little overwhelmed-in-a-good-way with the amount of music I've been/am-currently involved in. Friday night = stayed up all night recording. Saturday night = took pictures of my friends playing out then went and played a party myself from approx 1 - 5 am. Sunday night = practiced with the band I just joined (playing keyboards) that has a show Friday. Tonight = record with keys/sax/drums trio project, Tuesday = practice with band I drum for, assholishly blowing off later-evening practice with other band in favor of the State of the Union Address drinking game, Wednesday = practice with band playing show Friday. Thursday night = recording at home. Friday night = gig with afforementioned band. Saturday night = go see T-Model Ford at The Dame. Sunday = it all starts over again.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 19 January 2004 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Congrats Teeny!

I'm sick of my job but I've got a three month notice period which makes looking for a new job really difficult. I feel like giving notice now and just hoping that I find something in time, but that wouldn't be very sensible. If I'm not working then I'm worrying about work. I live in London and I can't afford to buy a place so I feel like I'm just working in order to be able to rent somewhere to sleep at night. It's all shit. I want to run away and live in a hut in the arctic circle and eat berries.

Alfie (Alfie), Monday, 19 January 2004 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I twisted my ankle yesterday and it's still giving me gip.

All bad I'm afraid - depressed, eyes seriously deteriorating.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 20 January 2004 19:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I feel a bit of an impostor posting here seeing as I don't really know anyone but I thought I'd just say to Alfie, until very recently I was in the same position as you with the 3 month notice period and a job which was getting me down. But I managed to get a new job i just started 6 weeks ago - i am enjoying it loads, i am really glad i moved job (so far!) and the 3 months didnt put my new employers off so take heart, am sure it will happen for u too. Martin, i hope things get better soonest. Congratulations to Teeny, hope the good times continue for all who posted above who are enjoying things and to everyone else, keep the chin up and hang in there.

summer is here, on and off, the lad is doing great and there is a possible 'new man' on the horizon ( after 2 years of anti-relationship mind-set ) so im not complaining :-)

lyra (lyra), Friday, 23 January 2004 05:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Hi Donna -

It's an odd new year for me, but not too bad. I'm reading oodles and oodles, spending a lot of time offering (ignored) sacrifices to the various technology daemons, trying to litter-box train my hedgehog, and avoiding de-decorating the house after the holidays (thank goodness we have a live tree - it's growing more in the house than it did on the back porch - go figure). How's life in your world?

Teeny - many congratulations!

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Friday, 23 January 2004 06:14 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, congratulations teeny! yay!

donna (donna), Friday, 23 January 2004 06:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Martin: all the best, you have my sympathy.
