CONNERY BANS IMITATION
Fussy star SIR SEAN CONNERY had one major rule for his LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN co-stars when he hired them - don't impersonate me.
The Scottish actor collected a band of young actors around him for the comic book adaptation, and insisted they didn't try and copy his famous accent on the set - because he's sick of being mimicked.
PETA WILSON, who plays MINA HARKER in the film, recalls, "We were told, 'No imitating Connery.' There are all these rules for certain stars - like you can't look at FAYE DUNAWAY - and Connery's rule is, 'Don't do my voice.'"
The Aussie actress admits his warnings didn't stop co-stars like STUART TOWNSEND and SHANE WEST from making the most of working with Connery.
She adds, "As soon as he started in rehearsal the boys had their phones recording his voice, playing it for their answering machines, and they were doing it all the time on set.
"One day Connery called up Shane and he thought it was one of the other guys so Shane comes back with his best Connery, and it was actually Connery on the phone."
