All I have to eat is BREAD and CURRY powders!

Jon Williams (ex machina), Saturday, 24 January 2004 20:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you not even have baked beans? Spicy beans on toast is kclassic.

Llahtuos Kcin (Nick Southall), Saturday, 24 January 2004 20:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Curry sandwich duh.

Leee Majors (Leee), Saturday, 24 January 2004 20:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I think we have some dried black beans, but that'll take hours. Also, the bread was FROZEN.

Jon Williams (ex machina), Saturday, 24 January 2004 20:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Curry sandwichcicles!!!

Leee Majors (Leee), Saturday, 24 January 2004 20:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Toasted curry sandwiches!

Llahtuos Kcin (Nick Southall), Saturday, 24 January 2004 20:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm a USian; curry is yellow shit that comes in a little spice jar. HOW DOES THAT MAKE A SAMMICH????????????

Jon Williams (ex machina), Saturday, 24 January 2004 20:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh man. Tandoori chicken stuffed inside a dismembered naan bread = kclassic2. Best sandwhich you'll ever have. Though admittedly difficult to make with just bread and curry powder.

Llahtuos Kcin (Nick Southall), Saturday, 24 January 2004 20:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm banned from ordering Indian food from my phone line!

Jon Williams (ex machina), Saturday, 24 January 2004 21:02 (twenty-two years ago)

do you have oil? you could maked a fried bread curry. Or if it's olive oil you could have curried bruschetta.

teeny (teeny), Saturday, 24 January 2004 21:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I have some corn oil.

Jon Williams (ex machina), Saturday, 24 January 2004 21:02 (twenty-two years ago)

yes then, fry the bread in a skillet with a bit of oil, sprinkle curry powder on, yum.

teeny (teeny), Saturday, 24 January 2004 21:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll do it!

Jon Williams (ex machina), Saturday, 24 January 2004 21:08 (twenty-two years ago)

yay!

teeny (teeny), Saturday, 24 January 2004 21:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Well?

Llahtuos Kcin (Nick Southall), Saturday, 24 January 2004 21:47 (twenty-two years ago)

unwell.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 24 January 2004 21:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Possibly violently.

Llahtuos Kcin (Nick Southall), Saturday, 24 January 2004 21:50 (twenty-two years ago)

There was mold on the bread.

Jon Williams (ex machina), Saturday, 24 January 2004 22:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, but wasn't curry initially a way of disguising the taste of bad meat? No reason to starve!

Llahtuos Kcin (Nick Southall), Saturday, 24 January 2004 22:43 (twenty-two years ago)

There's always autophagia.

Leee Majors (Leee), Saturday, 24 January 2004 22:52 (twenty-two years ago)

There's this great thing called "pizza." And an even greater thing called "delivery." (Teeny, yer neat and all, but that fried curry bread idea just made my stomach lurch something fierce.)

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Saturday, 24 January 2004 23:04 (twenty-two years ago)

haha actually I ordered and ate pizza in the time this thread unfolded. But hasn't anyone had fried bread? It's good, like how the bread in (US-style) grilled cheese is all crispy!

teeny (teeny), Saturday, 24 January 2004 23:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I just ate the end of the Trader Joe's chicken nuggets with some BBQ sauce, always a bad sign.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Saturday, 24 January 2004 23:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I HAVE NO JOB OR MONEY YOU POXY FOOLS

Jon Williams (ex machina), Saturday, 24 January 2004 23:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I think the beans would have been ready by now if you had started them back when they were suggested.

teeny (teeny), Saturday, 24 January 2004 23:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I found some vegan fake meat shit.

Jon Williams (ex machina), Sunday, 25 January 2004 00:05 (twenty-two years ago)

So many ways to take that.

Llahtuos Kcin (Nick Southall), Sunday, 25 January 2004 00:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I decided that the very best thing to do tonight is to watch Winged Migration with some fine cheese, red wine, and a baguette. Ho, ho. But somehow that doesn't quite seem like a meal. I'm looking for suggestions.

jaymc (jaymc), Sunday, 25 January 2004 00:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Can you toast baguette? (Clearly I just got my first toaster oven.)

Jon Williams (ex machina), Sunday, 25 January 2004 00:28 (twenty-two years ago)

jaymc - nooooooooo.

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 25 January 2004 00:29 (twenty-two years ago)

by which i mean 'winged migration is k-rub.'

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 25 January 2004 00:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Really? I wasn't particularly interested in it until a mess of my friends started talking about how great it was.

jaymc (jaymc), Sunday, 25 January 2004 00:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Jon, I might warm up part of my baguette in the broiler.

jaymc (jaymc), Sunday, 25 January 2004 00:31 (twenty-two years ago)

oh i sat through it when it came out in the cinema. i'm not really sure what it is nor what it wants to be. it kinda 'works' best (i mean i can only really explain it) as a collection of pretty photographs. any investigation or insight is so scant you couldn't call it a documentary. the screens are pretty for the first half hour but then it starts repeating, there are only so many V formations you can watch, even against difft. backgrounds, before you want to drive a railway spike up through yr nose into yr brain. i'd watch the first half hour and no more. i guess you can make that dec. yrself if you start watching it and die of boredom.

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 25 January 2004 00:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Clearly, ILX doesn't have the awesome drugs I have. Winged Migration is grebt!

Jon Williams (ex machina), Sunday, 25 January 2004 00:36 (twenty-two years ago)

'awesome drugs'; 'winged migration is grebt!'

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 25 January 2004 00:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, I've been told this, too. In fact, I just got off the phone with a friend not too long ago who said, "You know, if you ever want to watch that movie again, I still have some pot we can smoke..."

jaymc (jaymc), Sunday, 25 January 2004 00:39 (twenty-two years ago)

No food and no money. Well my friend groceries are very, very easy to steal. You simply grab and armload and walk out the front door and you will not be stopped. And dumpster diving is a CLASSIC source of good free food. Go here. http://www.dumpsterworld.com and you may find the thread where I talk about not buying any groceries for months. Or you can hit the food pantry.

sucka (sucka), Sunday, 25 January 2004 02:41 (twenty-two years ago)

But hasn't anyone had fried bread? It's good, like how the bread in (US-style) grilled cheese is all crispy!

French toast is my crack cocaine. Deep-fried French toast is my crack-cocaine-and-leggy-hookers.

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Sunday, 25 January 2004 04:04 (twenty-two years ago)

How in hell did FROZEN BREAD GET MOLDY?

Poppy (poppy), Sunday, 25 January 2004 04:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Strangest site ever.

may pang (maypang), Sunday, 25 January 2004 06:18 (twenty-two years ago)

eleven months pass...
I'm only reviving this to say that I also thought Winged Migration was terrible, and I was stoned when I watched it. Bah.

kyle (akmonday), Sunday, 9 January 2005 00:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I used to make this thing for lunch when I was a teenager. I think it involved fried bread cubes, as well as fried salami, and then I would put it under the broiler briefly to melt cheese on top of it. It was quite tasty actually.
