Granted, it's a good flick, but I mean, really.. come on now!

anyone who claims anything other than Back to the Future is their favorite movie is obviously lying.

ryan (ryan), Sunday, 25 January 2004 06:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Sight&SoundClassic.

Eric H. (Eric H.), Sunday, 25 January 2004 06:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm gonna have to go with major DUD. It's such a fucking cliché, besides the film being somewhat overrated (although still great).

Francis Watlington (Francis Watlington), Sunday, 25 January 2004 07:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude, both Back to the future and the Seventh Samurai are within my top ten favorite movies.

Classic if the person knows nothing about film, Dud if they are some film critic.

A Nairn (moretap), Sunday, 25 January 2004 08:55 (twenty-two years ago)

The Seven Samurai would be greatly improved if it had Bill Murray in it.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Sunday, 25 January 2004 10:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, at least it shows a bit more throught than saying 'Citizen Kane'.

The whole concept of a enduring favourite is a bit strange imho...life is change...

Bob Six (bobbysix), Sunday, 25 January 2004 13:06 (twenty-two years ago)

If asked I always say Jaws, for the simple reason that it's the film I've watched and enjoyed most in my life.

Llahtuos Kcin (Nick Southall), Sunday, 25 January 2004 13:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I say classic, since it is my favourite movie most pf the time. I am suspicious of making judgements of people's attitude to movies based on only one pick.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 25 January 2004 19:34 (twenty-two years ago)

It'd probably make my top ten. May well be my favorite epic...so Classic it is!

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Sunday, 25 January 2004 19:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Recently I've started to wonder if my favorite movie of all time is This Is Spinal Tap.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Sunday, 25 January 2004 19:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I am suspicious of making judgements of people's attitude to movies based on only one pick.

Even if that pick is, oh, say... Jack?

Eric H. (Eric H.), Sunday, 25 January 2004 21:20 (twenty-two years ago)

dudalicious

sym (shmuel), Sunday, 25 January 2004 22:23 (twenty-two years ago)

It's probably the only film that I couldn't argue against. Classic.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 26 January 2004 09:34 (twenty-two years ago)

_Seven Samurai_, _Hidden Fortress_, shit, every Kurosawa
movie is absolutely riveting from beginning to end. But
so is _Go_ and _The Talented Mr. Ripley_ ... are you really
just criticizing people who refuse to take a modern, color
movie seriously?

Squirrel_Police (Squirrel_Police), Monday, 26 January 2004 09:51 (twenty-two years ago)

For the record, I do not have a "favorite movie," just as
I don't have a "favorite album" - I think those are GENERALLY
the domains of people don't dig very deep into movies (or music).
