I'm getting old, is my explanation. Same as with GMTV presenters - whereas my reaction to, say, Jenni Falconer is "fuck off and die," my reaction to, say, Penny Smith is more in the region of "mmm, *this section has been censored in the interests of taste and decency* and that's just with your Doc Martens."

Hurley isn't posh. I never fancy posh women, so I was confused that I fancied Hurley and Patsy Kensit. But then I found out that Patsy's the daughter of an East End gangster, and that Hurley went to school at a comprehensive in Basingstoke. I must have been fancying the rough tarts - my normal type - beneath the veneer, all along. Which is reassuring.
