Tis me, ahem, aha. Kermie?
The question for today, and for many after, is Due to the nature of posting on ILX, its conversational tone and immediacy, is ILX then, among other things, tilted towards being a collection of reactionary claptrap, geogrpahically and temporally specific threads of little interest, and doob-assed moments of attempted out-hipsterism that only days later reek of egotistical toejam? Does ILX encourage reflection, the dialogue of change, the learning experience of interaction featuring a truly international cast? Or is it at heart the basest reflection of all that is wrong in this world - judgemental, illinformed idiots acheiving the appearence of majority rule?

It still makes me laugh everyone time someone accuses ILX of "hipsterism".

Does anything on the internet encourage this? No, and we're all better off for it. Trust me.

I think it does to a certain extent, in that you will instantly get shot down if you profess to not liking a certain genre of music or, more specifically, get the world's biggest fan provide you with a very credible top ten. Even just seeing a group of people talk with such passionate belief about a certain type of music opens your eyes. I think it simultaenously breeds a passion for what you like and a passionate, intrigued curiosity, interest and acceptance about what other people like.

Not to overstate the case too much, but this seems in part what a tolerant, internationalist forward-thinking culture (sub-culture?) needs.
