going native is no more dud than refusing to go native.
Xenophobic opposition to foreign ways of living is dud.
Now, if going native is just the inverted mirror image of xenophobia - exoticism made personal or something - then going native is as dud as xenophobia. If going native results from discovering a way of life that you see as a better way of living than where you came from, then there's nothing dud about that, is there?
I don't know, but it seems a bit more complicated than just 'dud'.
