This thread is to be renewed occasionally by any and all ilx0rs who have recently completely transatlantic/transpacific/transwhatevah routes taking them through several-several diff. time zones, and have subsequently found themselves thinking/talking total nonsense while they try to stay awake long enough to right their sleep. Probability that this thread will mainly include transcriptions of/references to whatever piece of melody happens to be De La Hoyaing around the inside of said jet-lagees branez: HIGH

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 10 April 2004 23:23 (twenty-two years ago)

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Saturday, 10 April 2004 23:24 (twenty-two years ago)

rgeary (rgeary), Saturday, 10 April 2004 23:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I love my broken brain so much: it took me like two very long and confusing minutes to figure out what remember to return the shoes when you're done! was referring to

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Saturday, 10 April 2004 23:28 (twenty-two years ago)

if you still need to stay up after bowling, listen to ice cube, preferably the predator or death certificate.

rgeary (rgeary), Saturday, 10 April 2004 23:30 (twenty-two years ago)

bowling for cube

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 10 April 2004 23:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Broheems (diamond), Saturday, 10 April 2004 23:33 (twenty-two years ago)

why oh why does "toes" not rhyme with "posse," I mean honestly what kind of rhyme fascist overseer failed to arrange it so "toes" would rhyme with "posse"

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Saturday, 10 April 2004 23:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I will also service Bushwick

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Saturday, 10 April 2004 23:35 (twenty-two years ago)

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 10 April 2004 23:36 (twenty-two years ago)

no-one, but NO ONE, really honestly knows what Lisa Lisa says right after she spits "I Wonder If I Take You Home" and then the beat drops right in like this

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Saturday, 10 April 2004 23:41 (twenty-two years ago)

something about satan, surely? i thought the jury decided that when they heard the tapes.

rgeary (rgeary), Saturday, 10 April 2004 23:51 (twenty-two years ago)

several hours later I can reveal that drinking Scotch when jet-lagged is not exactly the best idea in the whole wide world

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Sunday, 11 April 2004 03:57 (twenty-two years ago)

and why not?

rgeary (rgeary), Sunday, 11 April 2004 04:00 (twenty-two years ago)

i love messing with jet lagged people

rgeary (rgeary), Sunday, 11 April 2004 04:01 (twenty-two years ago)

If you lived at home, you'd be here now.

Skottie, Sunday, 11 April 2004 05:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Jet-lagged people of the world - the answer to jet lag is to watch Time Team. Don't ask me why - it just does.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Sunday, 11 April 2004 08:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm still totally unclear what's so specific about this jet lag.

...in bed. (Chris Piuma), Sunday, 11 April 2004 10:47 (twenty-two years ago)

my mother is adamant there's no such thing as jet-lag. she repeatedly tells us; she NEVAH suffers from jet-lag.

jesus nathalie (nathalie), Sunday, 11 April 2004 11:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Is John still alive?

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 11 April 2004 11:26 (twenty-two years ago)

not only am I still alive, I went bowling, and afterwards found myself reprising one of my most frightening harangues, one I used to launch into daily about the history of the novel

it scared my wife I fear but I drank a few glasses of Scotch and hit the sack and I am somewhat better-rested now

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Sunday, 11 April 2004 13:45 (twenty-two years ago)

All this bloody yap about father and son and all this sentimental rubbish about homeland and birthplace -- yap! Bloody yap! Impernanence - anonymity-- that's what I'm looking for; a vast restless place that doesn't give a damn about the past. To hell with Ballybeg, that's what I say!
