I was reading this thread from when it started, and it's a rollercoaster. I'm not a used fan really. I've never really sat down and listened to their music. But from what I've heard, they're pretty good. My son loves them.
You know that just sucks that you, obviously, older men are fighting back and forth with these fans because most of them are young anyways. All they want to do is have a little chat. Is that possible for them to do that?
You know, my son's best friend was on the verge of committing suicide and while they were on the phone with each other, my son put in the used cd and his best friend's mood changed completely. I do believe it had something to do with the lyrics of the song he played.
All I'm saying is, butt out of their thread. This is their place where they can talk about a band they like. Didn't you enjoy a particular band when you were younger? I know I sure did.

Not only is there a separate music section, but given the type of discussion that usually takes place on ILE (good and bad), this might not be the best place for them. There are many Used discussion boards on the Internet, and they would be much more welcome there. I realise you think I'm some old grump, but those are just the facts, ma'am.

I also take exception to the insults and retaliations by Grape/Josh/etc. Not only are they childish and immature, they are boring. Would you guys fucking cut it out? You're making me want to quit music. I mean I'm grateful that you buy the records and everything but seriously. How fucking embarassing do you think it is for me to find this sort of shit when I'm ego-surfing? Ninety fucking times the regulars from this board try to explain the difference between ILE (for talking about everything except music) and ILM (for talking about music, such as, for example, my band, the Used), and you guys respond with "this thread is for fans of the Used!" Jesus CHRIST! Do you think we're PROUD of our fans acting like morons or something? Two years I put in at that fuckin' community college, and I was this close to my AA in hotel & restaurant management, and then the whole record contract thing came up and I thought "well, shit, I can always finish the AA if I have to." And then everything took off, and here I am, but Jesus Dancing Christ On A Tightrope, people. If you're gonna rep for my band, at least try not to make us look like we got successful on the strength of our popularity in the can't-walk-and-chew-gum-at-the-same-time demographic.
