i ask coz I've just got a new job as an editor where I'll be working on my own all the time, whereas for the past three and a half years I've worked as part of a team of people. For the past four months i've been a team leader of a team of three.

Two years ago I became a manager and instead of being a happy network troglodyte that keeps the trains running on time, I'm now "managing" a tech staff of four people. I do less coding and find myself increasing Dilberted with "manager activities" past my own personal breaking point (recent state budget crises have magnified this somewhat). I have zero interest in what I do and wake up each morning weary at the thought of dragging my sorry ass into the office to confront the same tedium all the while hoping that the building has burned down, fallen over, and sunk into the swamp.

Working on your own is the best by far. I'd be the happiest if personal interaction was kept at a minimum and I didn't have to talk in person with anyone. As it is, I stay in my office all day with the door closed.

You can't spell 'team' without ME!

Mostly on my own, but it helps to have a team when there's a deadline looming. I hate letting other people down, but letting myself down has never been a problem.

It's great to be part of a team who mucks in to get stuff done.

Right now I hate working from home. Can be very isolating!

Heaven! Except for a couple of my coworkers, they're cool.

I hate working in teams, everyone else is always such a letdown.

Classic! I'm definitely going to use that one in my next job interview.

Erm, isn't it 'tame' that you can't spell without ME?

More important to note that you can't spell 'team' without TEA.

On my own. Holy shit, definitely. Why? Because people are ass holes and I don't like them.

I like to work on my own. I don't like arguing with the other people and have to tell them their ideas are no good. But I will work with people if I have to.

I like working on my own when i want to work. On lazy days the team proves useful.
