Hula hula

This evening I am going to buy a hula hoop for fun and a flatter stomach. I'm okay at it, but I want to be really good. A girl I'm working with at the moment used to be a hula champion and can keep the hoop spinning until she gets bored of it bacisally. I'm very impressed by this (it doesn't take much).

So how long can you hula? And how can you hula for longer?

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 10:22 (twenty-two years ago)

when we were at the workers playtime summer special thing that launched the free art on the southbank last year, there was a young girl (about 7 or 8, at a guess) and she was a demon hulaer...

...i have no answers for your question though, soz like...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 10:35 (twenty-two years ago)

The trick to extended hulaing (sp?) is to rock the hips forward and backward, not circular or side to side like a lot of people try.

I'm pretty good at the hula and I have no idea why.

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe you could encourage someone to drive a car over it Steve?

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:09 (twenty-two years ago)

that's really mean Tim

Sorry Twinkle, didn't mean it.

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:11 (twenty-two years ago)

that's okay, friends?

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Get a room!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:14 (twenty-two years ago)

And a couch....

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:15 (twenty-two years ago)

why? hula-hooping is perfectly feasible outdoors

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:15 (twenty-two years ago)

that girl's choice of attire is interesting anyway, for that 'just got out of bed and now there's a hula hoop around me with a clock on it' look

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Hula hooping, is that what the kids are calling it these days?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Calling what?

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I think it looks more like she's been caught in a game of 'hoop-la'.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Heroin abuse Tim.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:18 (twenty-two years ago)

the prize is a skirt

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:18 (twenty-two years ago)

For who?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Tim

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:19 (twenty-two years ago)

and like the hula hoop itself we have come full circle

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:20 (twenty-two years ago)

What about Anna?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:21 (twenty-two years ago)

she is a palindromic hularess

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:22 (twenty-two years ago)

No one has said how long they can hula for. I don't get the impression there is much hulaing (hularing?) these days. Is Anna starting a new wave of hulaing (huling?) or am I just behind the London times?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I mean, it really does seem an excellent way of keeping trim.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:26 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm uncomfortable with gyrating in public while sober

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought one did it skirtless in one's room, with only Tim watching.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:31 (twenty-two years ago)

You know what thought did.

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:32 (twenty-two years ago)

how regal!

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:32 (twenty-two years ago)

What did thought do?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought you were supposed to know?

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Is this a routine?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:37 (twenty-two years ago)

No, it's just routine.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 11:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Still don't need bicycles.

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 12:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe a unicycle?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 12:08 (twenty-two years ago)

There's a unicycle right by me at the moment actually.

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 12:13 (twenty-two years ago)

combine it with the hula and you've got yourself an act

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 12:15 (twenty-two years ago)

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 12:30 (twenty-two years ago)

the dad has very sensible taste in clothing for a cat.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 12:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Look at what the little boy cat can do!

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 12:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Which little boy cat?

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 12:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry, I was kind of giving myself a pep talk.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 12:47 (twenty-two years ago)

chuckle out loud

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 14 April 2004 15:40 (twenty-two years ago)

one year passes...
Wow. That cat picture should be a mandatory wallpaper on ALL pc's.

Rumpie (lil drummer girl parumpumpumpu), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 16:03 (twenty years ago)

The thought of Anna hula-ing away in her flat makes me happy.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 16:08 (twenty years ago)

If I hula-ed in my flat I'd knock things over :-(
