I'm bumping this for any updates - I'm trying to set something up on my Windows XP and don't know which one is the best.

EAC with Lame doing the encoding.

Yeah, I went w/EAC for years and years before switching to Mac. Do it.

RazorLame is pretty awesome for encoding. I'm guessing that it's just another Lame frontend cos I downloaded it years ago and haven't had to look at it since, it works perfect!
I use iTunes to rip from CDs though. It's a small hassle cos I dont organize my MP3s the way iTunes does but it's still pretty good at it!

Itunes is a shitty ripper, you may as well use anything else because it does not do secure ripping. Go with EAC and lame.

I've been using Poikosoft Easy CD-DA Extractor for years and it's great. There is a small fee but it's worth it:

I still use CDex. It's especially useful because some cd anti-piracy thingies dont recognise it as a ripper and dont prevent the cd being ripped. ha!

I'll rep for audiograbber too, but CDex and EAC are both awesome products. iTunes is only for people who hate music. Really.

I wish there was something a little better out there for Mac OS X, though. I'm using Max right now, which seems to be a good ripper and uses LAME, but the program itself is pretty damn buggy.

EAC 4evah!
― anatol_merklich, Wednesday, 19 November 2008 10:40 (seventeen years ago)
i've noticed major glitches on a few itunes-ripped tracks only after random playback - figured this was due to browsing while ripping or something equally ridiculous.

EAC, definitely!
