Parental Wisdom?

So, I'm having some difficulties at work and was talking to my father about it last night, and he says, 'the thing about money is that it's all relative. You can make a million dollars and still be broke. I don't know how I get along with so little, but I do.' It was kind of indirect, but I think he was trying to tell me not to work my ass off for money if I really can't stand my job.

Do you keep any bits of parental wisdom in your head?

One from my dad that has stuck with me: "There's never going to be time." He popped out with it in response to me putting off yet more more semi-important thing until I "have time." As with so many things he's said, he meant it lovingly, even if it doesn't read that way.

It works every time.

"There is no such thing as free pussy." My dad saw that scribbled on a wall or bathroom stall somewhere many years ago and offers this sage advice to me once in a while.
