I remember Mel's Kitchen (a no-deal northern soul band gigging on the Cambridge circuit in the late 1980's) doing a cover version of Bob Dylan's "I Want You", replacing the words "so bad" in the chorus with "Because you smell nice". Their "I want you because you smell nice" has since cross-fertilized in my mind with Dylan's original line, making: "I want you because you smell so bad". Maybe this is why I am not a wanted man. Unwanted in Tallahassee, unwanted in Baton Rouge ...
