... so the people at work in the offices breathing in the recycled air gossiping about people you don't like looking for something you can't find wishing you made more won't feel left out by the 'indie' thread.

dean! (deangulberry), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Myself: Ken Cole all around. Black pinstripe dress shirt, grey slacks, black leather shoes ... etc etc.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Too boring to be indie, too poor to be a yuppie.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I bought up a small company and sold off the parts at a great profit, while wearing a blue shirt with white collar and lovely braces. I was also shouting BUY! BUY! BUY! SELL! SELL! SELL!

incidentally, greed, for want of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works.

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:28 (twenty-two years ago)

When someone asked me how I was, I said I was feeling OK because it's almost Friday.

Aaron A., Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:29 (twenty-two years ago)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Did you do it on your PDA?

57 7th (calstars), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Nemo (JND), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I had sex with your assistant while you were at lunch.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I actually WISH I could contribute to this thread right now.

Where do you work, Dean? Are they hiring?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:50 (twenty-two years ago)

The Huckle-Buck

Whew, boy am I glad. Someone had to do do him.

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:53 (twenty-two years ago)

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Do do him? What am I talking about?

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I did that too.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Not on the couch I hope.

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:56 (twenty-two years ago)

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Thursday, 15 April 2004 17:59 (twenty-two years ago)

My assistant wants to know when you're swinging by to pick up your JEW and Weezer CDs?

You're fired

57 7th (calstars), Thursday, 15 April 2004 18:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Chris 'The Velvet Bingo' V (Chris V), Thursday, 15 April 2004 18:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey guys, thanks for all your input. Terriffic. It's really great to see a team come together like this. Does ILE kick butt, or what? I can't hear you! I still can't hear you! Whoah, that's too loud! I bet they could hear that all the way over at Yahoo Groups!

Ha ha, but seriously, I'm just gonna have to ask you to go ahead and make sure you're all signed up for the mandatory Extreme Quality Management seminar this weekend at the Ramada, K? Great. This is really going to be a great opportunity for us to rethink and extend the ILE brand, and I'm really looking forward to it. See you Saturday at 7:30 am sharp!

bill stevens (bscrubbins), Thursday, 15 April 2004 20:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm drinking tea from Tazo whose parent company is STARBUCKS and who just made a licensing and distribution deal with KRAFT!

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 15 April 2004 20:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm working down the street from Starbucks headquarters at a company which shares its building with some kind of bootcamp for Starbucks managers.

martin m. (mushrush), Thursday, 15 April 2004 20:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Tazo is Starbucks? Ha! I didn't know that. I'm usually up on these kinda corporate parentage things. I drink it religiously. Just finished a cup of Zen, in fact!

Broheems (diamond), Thursday, 15 April 2004 20:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm a fan of Tazo's capitalistyuppiescum tea. Drinking some Citron right now!

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 15 April 2004 20:17 (twenty-two years ago)

We have a starbucks IN OUR BUILDING.

And I guess this takes the cake: I make a living defending enron.

bill stevens (bscrubbins), Thursday, 15 April 2004 20:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I work with Bill! That's as scummy as it gets.

lisafrank! (deangulberry), Thursday, 15 April 2004 20:58 (twenty-two years ago)

DO YOU GUYS PLAY RAQUETBALL?

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 15 April 2004 20:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Also, we took a long lunch.

lisafrank! (deangulberry), Thursday, 15 April 2004 20:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I want you all to know that I just rolled my sleeves up because as far as I'm concerned, it's the weekend.

lisafrank! (deangulberry), Thursday, 15 April 2004 20:59 (twenty-two years ago)

*I'm forecasting second quarter actuals and I'm feeling sooooooo positive about it. Keep trucking you guys! One team - one target!

* my boss actually said this today

badger Kitten (badger Kitten), Thursday, 15 April 2004 21:43 (twenty-two years ago)

are you a trucker?

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 15 April 2004 21:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I wish. I like Yorkies.

badger Kitten (badger Kitten), Thursday, 15 April 2004 21:49 (twenty-two years ago)

And bacon sandwiches. I believe being a trucker means you spend all day eating these whilst roaring down the M11 burping and smokin grollies in king size papers. ( Anyone else reember Rizla' declaration that king skins were 'for long distance lorry drivers to enjoy'? ( ?)

badger Kitten (badger Kitten), Thursday, 15 April 2004 21:51 (twenty-two years ago)

smoking rollies I mean, of course. Damn this late nite booze addling my brane

badger Kitten (badger Kitten), Thursday, 15 April 2004 21:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, earlier this week the head of marketing took me aside to tell me what a great job I was doing! Yay, me!

I'm wearing a tie and pinstripe trousers. With a non-matching pinstripe blazer, which kind of ruins the corporate look. But still. Yay, me!

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 16 April 2004 07:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm working down the street from Starbucks headquarters at a company which shares its building with some kind of bootcamp for Starbucks managers.

I just walked by Starbucks headquarters today (on the way to the Home Depot to get screws for my car battery clamp). I stopped, looked at it, and went "Aaaaah, evil. Yes." and smiled.

donut bitch (donut), Friday, 16 April 2004 07:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I am getting the urge for a Starbucks Gingerbread Latte which means I am feeling fully corporate today. Woo! I even namedropped our programme on a thread today! That's how much I love our company and I love my job!

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 16 April 2004 07:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm sitting in the offices of a global corporation. I'm wearing a shirt and drinking an awful lot of coffee. Somewhere, buried in a my desk drawer, is a 'mission statement'.

robster (robster), Friday, 16 April 2004 08:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Much like lisafrank!, I am repping the Kenneth Cole today (pin-stripe trousers). I am also sporting some nice Browns black leather boots, and Hugo Boss has got my back covered with a nice maroon dress shirt. Black leather Cinque jacket tops it all off.

I just 'closed a deal' at work which will bring our company a pile of cash. I was congratulated for my work and everyone is very excited about it. Lots of back-slapping and 'way to go' stuff around here. (Too bad I couldn't care less...)

Right. I'm off to put in a little face-time with some clients in 'the city', after which I'll do lunch on my expense account.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 16 April 2004 08:09 (twenty-two years ago)

so because im a financial analyst and i work in an office im considered scum. much fun. i play golf too. well at least i don't have to eat ramen noodles every night.

Chris 'The Velvet Bingo' V (Chris V), Friday, 16 April 2004 10:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Chris 'The Velvet Bingo' V (Chris V), Friday, 16 April 2004 10:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 16 April 2004 12:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 16 April 2004 12:07 (twenty-two years ago)

its the old 80/20 rule, don't spend eighty percent of your time reading twenty percent of the posts.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 16 April 2004 12:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I just put £6k into last year's and this year's equities ISAs, having topped up my cash ISA on the 1st day of the tax year. Ph34r my tax-avoidance sk33z!

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 16 April 2004 12:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, today's 'Casual Friday' at work so I'm not wearing a tie.

57 7th (calstars), Friday, 16 April 2004 14:58 (twenty-two years ago)

My shirt is untucked. That's about as far as I got today.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 16 April 2004 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Bolton, you hippy, in my office NOW!

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 16 April 2004 15:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm Casual Friday in jeans. But I still feel self conscious.

pete b. (pete b.), Friday, 16 April 2004 15:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry Liz, I won't let it happen again.

I've started wearing French cuff shirts with fancy cufflinks lately. And I LIKE IT.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 16 April 2004 15:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I have cufflinks subtly connected to my favorite football team. So I'm classy and laddish all at once.

Michael White (Hereward), Friday, 16 April 2004 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Today I'm helping a Beltway Bandit prepare a proposal to bring them in even more money. And another client for whom I often work sells services to help companies outsource functions overseas -- the 21st century equivalent of selling pickaxes to 1849 Gold Rush arrivees.

j.lu (j.lu), Friday, 16 April 2004 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)
