I wrote this, tongue firmly in cheek, in a journal 2 years ago after I kissed a drunk israeli girl i'd go onto "date" briefly and most annoyingly:

1. I LIKE her. Means I like her. She is nice, or interesting, or cool, or attractive. Doesn't necessarily imply any sexual intentions, just a potential respect.

2. I have a CRUSH on her. This is a visceral reaction, an infantile sense of attraction not necessarily based on anything rational. Perhaps caused by phermones. Perhaps rational, but still somewhat superficial.

3. I FANCY her. This is more a more mature, respectful sense of interest. Maybe it's a crush but more serious? Or maybe it's a bit more distant and cerebral then a crush, but based on a more rational understanding of why I'd be interested.

4. I am SMITTEN with her. This is a crush on someone you fancy, but don't know well enough to love. I find myself here to quick. Perhaps based on the need to love, the longing to be in love, but I am smart enough to know it cannot be love, and smart enough to know she is making me feel stupid I want her so bad.

5. I am in LOVE with her. Books have been written, songs have been sung, you can try to put it into words, but does it matter?
