Well, personally I think Classic. I love the Trevor the Vampire, but Trog Dor is a bit overrated IMHO. Englilsh Paper is pretty good.

StrongBad is on point!

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 18 April 2004 22:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Dud. If I have to hear one more nerdy reference "Trogdor" I will stomp on their scrotum with my stompin' boots.

christhamrin (christhamrin), Sunday, 18 April 2004 23:33 (twenty-two years ago)

is it bad that my friends called their beer bong "trogdor the bonginator"?

todd swiss (eliti), Monday, 19 April 2004 01:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Dud, except for the techno e-mail.

Maria (Maria), Monday, 19 April 2004 01:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I turned this one into a huge dud for myself by watching like 80% of the emails in one fit of procrastination last december.

"children's book" still makes me giggle though.

the krza (krza), Monday, 19 April 2004 02:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Children's book! Awesome one. Maria and christhamrin, you are just not cool like Strong Bad.

aNatheMa (aNatheMa), Monday, 19 April 2004 02:27 (twenty-two years ago)

For free Internet animation, it's pretty classic. My favorite is the Strongbadia local newscast.

spittle (spittle), Monday, 19 April 2004 03:51 (twenty-two years ago)

my motto for the weekend was "a one that isn't cold, is scarcely a one at all."

yeah, guess what i was doing.

joseph (joseph), Monday, 19 April 2004 04:12 (twenty-two years ago)

(fucking classic, obv.)

joseph (joseph), Monday, 19 April 2004 04:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Dud. And largely because of the kind of cult-like love for the site that spurs people to title threads thusly. (I mean, I checked it out once or twice and it seemed cute, but really, people.)

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 19 April 2004 04:24 (twenty-two years ago)

exactly, i used to be a fan and check out the email every week but it certainly doesn't deserve the cult-like status is currently has.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Monday, 19 April 2004 04:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I dunno about cult-like status. I guess that depends on your age and social groups. My brother says it's a big deal on his campus, but most of my 30something friends have never heard of it. Anyway, it's inventive, the songs are funny, the mucking about with different animation styles is clever. For a few minutes of free entertainment a week, I rank it highly. And bonus comic-geek points for the Cheat, who's obviously descended from Popeye's Jeep:

spittle (spittle), Monday, 19 April 2004 04:33 (twenty-two years ago)

(oops. there was a picture of the Cheat there. well, you know what he looks like.)

spittle (spittle), Monday, 19 April 2004 04:35 (twenty-two years ago)

like jaymc, i visited the site a few times (ca. 2000), thought it was pretty funny, never went back. this is the only sane reaction to a humor site no matter how good it is.

Aaron A., Monday, 19 April 2004 04:47 (twenty-two years ago)

strong bad ROCKS MY WORLD.

as does the cheat. imo, the 'powered by the cheat' cartoons are superior to the regular ones.

"hey strong bad, i need to be kicked in the face."
"i can do it! i can do it nine times."

aNatheMa (aNatheMa), Monday, 19 April 2004 20:07 (twenty-two years ago)

i think the big problem is too many bits + limited number of bits that truly rock ... s/d to thread?

ccccccc, Monday, 19 April 2004 20:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Search: Pom-Pom dressed as Michael Moore.

In fact, search all the Halloween episodes.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 19 April 2004 20:49 (twenty-two years ago)

thanx! any more?

ccccccc, Monday, 19 April 2004 20:52 (twenty-two years ago)

As far as I can tell, the site has gotten much, much better since 2000. (I only found out about it last year.)

Search: TEEN GIRL SQUAD! Also Strong Sad's livejournal, if you can dig deep enough to find it. Also "The Ballad Of The Sneak". Also pretty much every Homsar appearance. Also THY DUNGEONMASTER. Also... well, the list goes on.

Destroy: Most of the non-holiday, non-email, full-length cartoons. You'd think those would be the highlights, but they're mostly kinda draggy.

...in bed. (Chris Piuma), Monday, 19 April 2004 21:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Coach Z (as Kid): They really fell off after the second one. I mean, Pyjama Jammy Jam?
StrongSad (as Vyvyan): I rarely know what you're talking about.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 19 April 2004 21:23 (twenty-two years ago)

The section with all the variations of "Kick the Can" is inspired and bizarre.

Nate in ST.P (natedetritus), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 02:21 (twenty-two years ago)

search: the "japanese cartoons" email, featuring pom-pom as pan-pan, a giant panda.

Sengai, Tuesday, 20 April 2004 02:38 (twenty-two years ago)

search: TEEN GIRL SQUAD!
and Stinkoman, obv. "THAT SOUNDS LIKE A CHALLEEEEEENGE!!!!"

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 12:24 (twenty-two years ago)

fifteen years pass...

So there's a Trogdor board game as of 2018 apparently.

This really was an of the moment site.

I bought the board game for my daughter for her birthday. It has a few more rules than I usually like in a game, but it's still pretty fun. She has a better hang on the rules than I do and she's 9. She's been a Homestar Runner fanatic since I introduced her to the Halloween episodes.
