Urgh. Have it stripped, then leave it alone until it grows out a bit.

what is with all the hair threads?
all ya gotta do is make it darker it you hate it light - the cure for bad hair dye is MORE hair dye

bleach it up to golden and put on a red if you're after something bright.

and condition the hell out of it.

Google "hair dye advice," Orbit.

Can't really dye it if it's black.

Go to a professional who understands hair colour processes, and get the colour pigment removed (colouring stripped). You may be able to use a pigment-only colour (colour shampoo, available from the hairdressers) that will be very temporary, but will cover the grey partially and be really gentle on your hair.

I wouldn't recommend bleaching b/c your hair is already chemically damaged if its turning black; you will have to leave the peroxide on too long - it will fry your hair and it will all break off. I don't think that bleaching is colour stripping - from what my hair dresser has said they are two different chemical processes. Best to talk to a hair dresser or two who you know (or who have good reps). Its worth it to save your hair.
