The Ballad of ILX

OK, as me boxes were seen as 'pish' by some members of this community, and Big Ilxor was greeted with jeers and accusations of misogyny, how about this: a bed-in for peace. Two outspoken members of this community stay in bed for a week, Lennon and Ono style, in a bid for world peace. They stay in the thread-bed, and fellow posters play the role of the world's press, visiting the bedside, asking searching questions and with any luck eliciting inspired and cogent reasons from the bedfellows why we, the world, should stop fighting.

And who'd you think these "outspoken members" should be?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 19 April 2004 10:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Noah's ark in Liverpool's port,
Rusting there, while soldiers escort
The Animals through the docks.
Lennon and Ono's bed-in
(Now David Blaine's box)
And the Beatles are lead in
Two by two,
For their's only two of them left.

'And who'd you think these "outspoken members" should be?' Not sure, though I definitely don't think it should be Cruciverbalist - he would just count (because it 'lome-aligned', or something).

Thirdly,

Cruciverbalist, Monday, 19 April 2004 10:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I will volunteer, for this, on wednesday night.

"I will volunteer, for this, on wednesday night." I am very happy to go with this bed-hopping arrangement, if everyone else is, and if two other people don't volunteer to go to bed for the whole alloted week in the meantime.

Womad and Womack and Simone, Monday, 19 April 2004 10:45 (twenty-two years ago)

We need a second volunteer. We need two.

Two by two

Noah's ark in Liverpool's port,
Rusting there, while soldiers escort
The Animals through the docks.
Lennon and Ono's bed-in -
Now David Blaine's box;
And the Beatles are led in
Two by two
(There are only two of them left).

Hmm, who is there here with a big mouth, who will go to bed with just about anyone...?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 19 April 2004 17:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, that's me - being seen in bed in not my strong point tho!

Johnney B (Johnney B), Monday, 19 April 2004 18:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I think the Ballad of ILX should start

Come listen to a story
'Bout a man named Ned

but that's all I got.
