Try ordering from Bent Crayon in Cleveland. It's maddening. They claim to be open, and your order will go through, but you will not receive it. When you e-mail them 2 weeks later to complain, they will either ignore you or reply "we are sorry about your order", but that's it. Oh yeah- you can't call them either- their voice mailbox has been full since December. I kind of hope they die.

Was it gemm themselves to blame, or the dealer, Donna? I've never had any problem with gemm, though I suppose such a response is inevitable unless a dealer is just a total scam.

second on bent crayon ... why do they spend all that time updating their inventory if they won't sell any of it???
As far as Gemm goes ... pay attention to their star rating system and you'll avoid trouble.

GEMM's been good to me. SD is OTM. Another trick w/ GEMM is simple. Even with stores where GEMM charges a surchase, it often has a link to the actual store. Go there. Order even more records. Pay no surchage.

Yes, I've never understood why gemm don't try to stop that. Maybe they figure they can't. A lot of stores have only have the gemm purchasing system in place though.

bent crayon is notorious for pokey/nonexistant mailorder. my mother got the runaround from them recently.

do you think that i didn't point that out to her? also, she was buying a compilation that i could have easily gotten her for free so the whole thing was a bit ridiculous. the thought of my mother arguing over the phone with jon made me laugh, though.
