Inspired by thinking that Campari and * whatever mixer* should be drunk whilst wearing a linen suit. Also martinis whilst wearing a big-shoulder- padded power suit . Slippery nipples whilst wearing a microskirt, L Plates and surrounded by screeching hen party revellers. Etc. Any thorts?

Michael White: thanks for the heads-up. But aren't those grotesque, fleshy-pink soles de rigeur for white bucks? I went to Ole Miss, understand, so these things are CRUCIAL.

Dickerson Pike (Dickerson Pike), Monday, 19 April 2004 21:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Dickerson Pike,

I agree entirely. Mine have that clay court red crepe for soles. I hope they haven't changed them since last I bought some. I'd call before ordering.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 02:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I am totally guilty of matching my drink to my outfit. Swank outfits = dirty martini, or a sidecar if I'm feeling like something a bit sweeter.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 13:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Pints of Guinness and Bushmills chasers - I don normal civvies, a plastic bib with catch-all lip and a skateboard helmet.

penelope_11, Tuesday, 20 April 2004 13:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Martini and lemonade = my school uniform. When I was at school. Not now; that would be pervy, and highly unflattering.

badger Kitten (badger Kitten), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 15:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Wearing different outfits for different drinks...is this real? This concept has never occurred to me. I must be the most unfashionable person in the world.

kirsten (kirsten), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 15:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh wait. A few years ago, Mandee and I were going to wear American flag bikinis and cowboy hats to drink Coors in London. Maybe that counts. We didn't actually do it, though.
