How googling your name can give you a nasty shock!

Like a lot of (very bored) people, I occasionally put my name into google to see what it comes up with. Today I was shocked to find "Mark Hester as an Adulterer" highlighted in bold in numerous hits....

?????????????

!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it soon became apparent that this was actually the verb 'to mark' and it was a reference to what happened to Hester Prynne in Hawthorne's "The Scarlet Letter". So shock over - and relief! But have you had a similar experience on googling yrself?

I turned up on the "Gothic Fashion" page:

StrangeGirl comments: Audacious Red by Torrids is a fairly permanent red. It is *not*, however, a primary red. It is a primary-red based 'natural' red. I usually mixed it in equal parts with Torch Crimson and used a high-volume (30-40) developer to get the best bright flame red. Lasts well too, and when it fades, it fades to a natural looking red. This combo will invariably leave your shower looking like you have killed someone in it! It does wash away mostly, but be careful, this stuff does mark grout/formica/vinyl floor/etc.

Not only that, but my entry for the 'book description in 20 words' from the I Love Books board here (as quite a few others), has been used all over the bloomin' shop!

My last name apparently means "garlic" in Portuguese, so a google picture search will provide lot's of pics of the white stinkers.

actually good old (should that be naughty old) Hester Prynne has a connection with the first ppl I met via the modern interweb too.....when i went to Austin, TX in March '97 I checked out the local music scene beforehand and discovered there was a band called Hester there who got the name from the Hawthorne character. They gave me a tape of their stuff which I leant to a mate and he lost it (grrr).

This link is quite an odd one:

This is not me. But, I lived in Hampshire when I was in the infants, and my dad was a keen yachtsman in the RAF and when we lived here.
