What is your political personality? (another quiz for the curious)

Does this accurately describe your political personality?

This one is supposed to be targeted towards college students. And relax Milo--it's being done by Harvard, an institution with absolutely no agenda, no propaganda, and no bias--you can probably use this for "serious" analysis and broad interpretation of political culture.

As for me:

"Secular Centrist. Secular centrists like you tend to be:
Strongly supportive of gay rights.
Believe strongly in the separation of church and state.
Less supportive of affirmative action than most college students.
Less likely to be concerned about the environment than most college students.
Less likely to believe in basic health insurance as a right than most college students."

I'm a traditional liberal.

Against pre-emptive strikes as a policy.
Strongly supportive of gay rights.
Of the belief that immigration has been good for this country.
Supportive of affirmative-action.
Oppose tax cuts as an economic policy.
Of the belief that basic health insurance is a right.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 11:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Yup, me too apparently...although I changed most of my answers and got the same results second time....

smee (smee), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 11:21 (twenty-two years ago)

It can clearly read your soul, then...

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 11:45 (twenty-two years ago)

traditional liberal. although it said that one of the attributes of a traditional liberal is a strong support for affirmative action, which I don't have.

MarkH (MarkH), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 11:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I was going to write exactly what MarkH wrote.

hmmm (hmmm), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 12:14 (twenty-two years ago)

nor I. and it said that.

Trad Lib, no surprises there. * goes and finds sandals and woolly jumper*

badger Kitten (badger Kitten), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 12:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Secular Centrist.

yossarian, Tuesday, 20 April 2004 13:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Secular centrist, which is probably as accurate as an 11 question poll is likely to get.

Michael White (Hereward), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 15:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, that politcal compass thingy is gonna cause much fun in my house tonight...

smee (smee), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Secular Centrist as usual, even though though I said protecting the environment was as important as protecting jobs.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 15:39 (twenty-two years ago)

trad lib

cinniblount (James Blount), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think I like the tone of this:
You are a Traditional Liberal. Traditional liberals like you tend to be:

Against pre-emptive strikes as a policy.
Strongly supportive of gay rights.
Of the belief that immigration has been good for this country.
Supportive of affirmative-action.
Oppose tax cuts as an economic policy.
Of the belief that basic health insurance is a right.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm a trad liberal too. The quiz designer probably doesn't understand the difference between economic policy and fiscal policy, like many Americans.

hstencil, Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Traditional liberal - that's a joke.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 05:49 (twenty-two years ago)

me too, though i am somewhat disagreeing with that, probably for the same reasons as milo

gareth (gareth), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 06:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I got traditional liberal the first time round but that was because I clicked on the wrong number for the affirmative action question. Now I'm suddenly a secular centrist.

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 06:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Secular Centrist which is funny because when anyone asks me what my political beliefs are I say I am an 'extremist'.

christhamrin (christhamrin), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 06:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm very disappointed I wasn't designated a Mad Liberal -- or more specifically, a Madlib.

donut bitch (donut), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 06:46 (twenty-two years ago)

secular centrist
p.s. seriously doubt there is going to be anyone on ILx who is in the other two categories.

duke guess, Wednesday, 21 April 2004 07:13 (twenty-two years ago)

secular centrist

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 08:19 (twenty-two years ago)
