Especially after the Time Team special the other night, I'm still convinced that the Iron Age was the time to live. Enough technological advances to make existence not totally shite, but still enough quality of life to make it worthwhile.
(Except the Elizabethan era might have been pretty cool, but only to visit. I'd have been burned at the stake if I'd had to live there!)
