Well...it's about time.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:50 (twenty-two years ago)

One caveat: I have never knowingly been inside a Victoria's Secret store.

Is it really like getting a time machine back to the Victorian era?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:51 (twenty-two years ago)

No, it's just kind of tacky with a very sickly pink color scheme.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:53 (twenty-two years ago)

HAHAHA Perhaps if "the Victorian era" is best typified by a gigantic pink brothel filled with panties!

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't know they had stores, I thought it was all mail-order, like Avon or Watkins.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:54 (twenty-two years ago)

or sea monkeys.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:54 (twenty-two years ago)

DO YOU PEOPLE NOT HAVE MALLS?????

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:54 (twenty-two years ago)

They're men. Don't you notice that all men look away from VS when they pass it?

Prude (Prude), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:55 (twenty-two years ago)

And...what is the "secret"? Is it rude?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Dan, the mall is in West Edmonton, not Regina.

hstencil, Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:56 (twenty-two years ago)

tho you'd think someone who lives in a town that rhymes with vagina to know more about these sorta things.

hstencil, Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:56 (twenty-two years ago)

why would you think that?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I dunno, it just seems right.

hstencil, Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:57 (twenty-two years ago)

HAHAHA Perhaps if "the Victorian era" is best typified by a gigantic pink brothel filled with panties!

B-but that sounds great!!! er...

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I feel so full of shame.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:59 (twenty-two years ago)

do you people NOT have girlfriends and wives??? how could you not know they had stores? How can you not have been in them?

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 19:00 (twenty-two years ago)

DO YOU PEOPLE NOT HAVE MALLS?????

I was about to say. There's one over at South Coast Plaza, and it looks perfectly dreadful.

Even though I have never bought anything from them, I have somehow ended up getting their catalog on a regular basis. They must know something I don't.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 19:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Your bra size?

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 19:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't know, the last collection does seem a little stuffy

http://www.reavleyp.demon.co.uk/sara06c.jpg

You say teenaged American males keep catalogues of this stuff under their mattress?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 19:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Your bra size?

Doubtless.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 19:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a very nice wife, but there isn't a victoria's secret store anywhere near us (in the uk)

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 19:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I think that's Edwardian Secret, @dam.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 19:03 (twenty-two years ago)

ssshhhhhhh

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 19:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Is there indie lingerie?

Clarke B. (Clarke B.), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 19:30 (twenty-two years ago)

from the thrift store, duh.

Dada, Tuesday, 20 April 2004 19:31 (twenty-two years ago)

the background music (out with Beethoven, in with loungey electronica).

Instead of travelling back to the Victorian era, you'll now be travelling back to the 1996 era.

Leee O'Gaddy (Leee), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 19:36 (twenty-two years ago)

"Goodwill stores across the US are about to launch their new line of high-end lingerie, 'Feels Like the First Time'"

Clarke B. (Clarke B.), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 19:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Is Frederick's of Hollywood a step above or below VS?

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 19:43 (twenty-two years ago)

FoH:VS::pop:rock

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 19:45 (twenty-two years ago)

which is to say
fun:thinks it's fun

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 19:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think they had panties in the Victorian era.

Also, didn't VS start out as a trashy lingerie store? Later it went a bit more upscale.

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 20:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Is that the secret?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 20:22 (twenty-two years ago)

maybe!

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 20:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think they had panties in the Victorian era.

They were just coming into women's wardrobes. But Queen Victoria herself almost certainly wore the open crotch type. Although I don;t think that's the stores' secret.

j.lu (j.lu), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 02:46 (twenty-two years ago)

...started out as? As in isn't that way anymore?

mouse, Wednesday, 21 April 2004 04:39 (twenty-two years ago)

WTF is the email alerts section at the bottom of the article? Fashion, Tyra Banks, Glenn Pushelberg, Ludwig von Beethoven? What does it mean?

Allyzay, Wednesday, 21 April 2004 04:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I mean, do they actually HAVE urgent Beethoven email alerts?

Allyzay, Wednesday, 21 April 2004 04:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Beethoven performs improptu synth concert at San Dimas Mall; police called

AaronK (AaronK), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 13:36 (twenty-two years ago)

pedant (could be jamesian too i guess) (gcannon), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 14:27 (twenty-two years ago)

"Fashion, Tyra Banks, Glenn Pushelberg, Ludwig von Beethoven"

amateur!st (amateurist), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 14:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I really dislike VS underwear. (Unless it's on someone else.)

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Their bras are rubbish, they invariably cut my left breast in half for some ungodly reason. :-(

Super-Kate (kate), Wednesday, 21 April 2004 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)
