I would like to know more about language of signs in oriental theater.
I heard it described as a coded theater grounded on signs, like an ideograph, where the representation of an object is the representation of an idea: a bird with an eye closed is the representation of the night.
I'm just begining to search the subject so pointers and other examples would be welcomed.
