Buying Rounds Vs Cash and Carry Vs Running A Tab

Maybe Im just really confused by all the insanity in the buying rounds thread. Which system would you rather and which is more prevalent?

Cash and carry always seems petty but there is nothing better then trying to settle a couple hundred tab between 8 or 9 drunk people.

I will never ever EVER run a tab in a bar. That way madness lies. I need to be forced to stop drinking when I run out of cash.

I don't even take my Debit card when I go drinking any more, due to the unfortunate incident with Colette and Matt DC and the ridiculously expensive Soho drinking den!

I always do a tab at the bar i frequent. makes it easier.

cash and carry results quite often in a huge pile of twoonies and loonies clanging in your pocket.
Though this might not be a problem where dollars are bills. Though I had to be careful due south since I had the hardest time telling if it was a dollar bill or twenty.
