Pizza's one, but I can't think of the other.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Biriani? Actually that would be horrible with pineapple, but feasible.

Archel (Archel), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Pad Thai

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

pineapple fried rice.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Fried rice includes scrambled egg and pineapple, in some combinations I've seen.

Bah xpost. LAUREN IS TOO QUICK FOR ME.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

You put fried egg on your pizza????

mouse, Friday, 23 April 2004 14:20 (twenty-two years ago)

pineapple in pad thai? that's truly foul!

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:20 (twenty-two years ago)

GAMMON!!!!

Sarah (starry), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Pensaba en el arroz frito piƱa.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Woah, mentalism. I was in the GHS with a friend at lunchtime today and she ordered gammon with pineapple, egg and chips.

I pointed at the pineapple and shrieked in horror "that is unnatural! Man was not meant to meddle in such things!"

Pineapple on any savoury food = wrong.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:21 (twenty-two years ago)

See here!!!

Sarah (starry), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Egg on pizza = beyond classique, obv.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:21 (twenty-two years ago)

MATT OTM.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Fiorentina pizza is the egg one right? W. spinach.

Archel (Archel), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Dude, you have either egg OR pineapple, not BOTH!

Sarah (starry), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Cake

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:22 (twenty-two years ago)

This is the most disgusting thing I have heard since the dreaded Half Rice Half Chips.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Yesh Archel, and it's flipping lovely when done RIGHT (La Porchetta!) and 'orrid when done wrong ie from pizza delivery places where you have bits of chopped egg residing on yr pizza, ugh chiz.

Sarah (starry), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Not to raise the ghost of threads past, but I have come round to the idea of pineapple on pizza (I will chuck practically anything on there in fact), but no other savoury food.

Archel (Archel), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Matt mention not THE WRONG TYPES OF GREASE.

Sarah (starry), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Are these the only items left in Tracer's fridge, I wonder?

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Sweet & Sour Chicken strips with Pineapple Chunks and Egg Fried Rice.

DJ Martian (djmartian), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

(yum)

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Are these the only items left in Tracer's fridge, I wonder?

There's always mustard though. As in:

"Oh WOW! I had MUSTARD?"

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Pedantry - it's not really a fried egg, I think the egg is kind of cracked open into the middle of the pizza and then cheese is put around the white and its baked in the oven with the rest of it. But very nice it is nonetheless.

Random bits of chopped egg plonked around pizza = yuck.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:34 (twenty-two years ago)

you can substitute the pineapple in ANY foodstuff or beverage with fried egg.

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:38 (twenty-two years ago)

"beverage"

VengaDan Perry puke-o-rama (Dan Perry), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:38 (twenty-two years ago)

you could!

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Ice lolly?

Archel (Archel), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Pineapple juice?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I just made myself feel ill.

Archel (Archel), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Can you even freeze eggs?

Archel (Archel), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Stelfox you should totally chuck in this dancehall stuff and write about food full time - all your food observations are genius.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:40 (twenty-two years ago)

perfectly possible.

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I have not enojoyed Fiorentina pizza when I've had it. As Matt says, it's cooked from raw on the pizza in the oven, and in my experience, has remained partially uncooked. Runny yellow is yum, but not runny white.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:42 (twenty-two years ago)

this weekend i will be listening to TOK and ingulging in experimental cookery: frying up a stack of eggs, piling them up one on top of the other and preserving them in pineapple juice - the man from hackney, he say YES!

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Runny white = double num. It's like playing Russian roulette with your stomach and therefore EDGY.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Everybody except for Huck is wrong.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Can you also substitute egg with pineapple?

Archel (Archel), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

imagine the time my idea could save in the morning: protein, fat and vitamin c, all in one tin. juts open the tin and pour over toast.

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I have no interest in my pizzas being edgy. I look for comfort in a pizza.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

You B&S fans are all the same.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

pineapple nog sounds quite nice archel

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Pineapple nog is kind of what my brain had been groping blindly towards ever since Dave posted that experimental cookery thing.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

we have a winner

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

When I was in Prague a few years back, after getting to our hotel we could only find once restaurant that was open. Anyway the menu was all in Czech and noone there knew a word of English, we couldn't recognise anything on the menu so we just guessed for a laugh.

I got this dish, served with chips, which was like two fried eggs with mandarin on them, and ham underneath them. It was fucking bizarre. Nice though, in a way. Then the lady who owned it started coming on to us so we left.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:57 (twenty-two years ago)

poached pineapple could actually be okay, too

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:57 (twenty-two years ago)

i might try making a mayonnaise-like thing by combining mashed pineapple with olive oil

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:04 (twenty-two years ago)

can this thread be marked not hangover safe?

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Pineapple is supposed to affect the taste of semen. This seemed germane.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:06 (twenty-two years ago)

candied fried egg is a bit of a winner, too

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:06 (twenty-two years ago)

No wonder my del monte blow job night never got any customers!!!

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:07 (twenty-two years ago)

friday fun: quiz - closing time BST 6.00pm 23/4/04

best food sex scenario involving pineapple rings and fried egg.

go4it !

DJ Martian (djmartian), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

it's bound to affect in a positive way, i'd have thought. i am only familiar with the taste of pineapple, by the way, and not the other.

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:09 (twenty-two years ago)

everyone has their mind in the gutter today, and it's distressing me.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Hoop-la.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:12 (twenty-two years ago)

"today"?

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:14 (twenty-two years ago)

call me unimaginative but i really can't imagine getting any sexual kick from a fried egg. also i strongly advise that the pineapple is peeled, or that the rings are removed from the tin 1st.

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:15 (twenty-two years ago)

tampopo to thread.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)

ok substitute with a Cadbury's Creme Egg - if you have a sweet tooth

DJ Martian (djmartian), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:17 (twenty-two years ago)

also, something involving a hardboiled egg happens in in the realm of the senses.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah but not a fried one, though!

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

well they have Fried Mars Bars in Jockoland, so how about Battered Fried Cadbury's Creme Egg?

DJ Martian (djmartian), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:23 (twenty-two years ago)
