Sir Trevor MacDonalds: "In a swoop already being called *Snatch of the Day* *shitty smirk* Michael Parkinson's has defected..."

Funny, I see it exactly the opposite. Stupid fools at BBC let go of old reliable talent.

8:30pm: The Michael Parkinson Show- New sitcom, in which a senile, unintelligible, vastly overrated cunt jacks himself off red raw over pictures of Joss Stone and Michael Buble, pausing only to finally fucking die.

in this world of 100s of cable channels and a myriad production companies making programmes for multiple TV networks, I'm surprised anyone thinks like this anymore. "Oh no! They've gone over to The Other Side! Oh no!"

Week 1: Michael acts like a complete dick to a visiting Hollywood actress, and then gets surprised when she becomes annoyed.

So you don't think he's remarkably selfish, stupid and short-sighted to demand that his show, which is pretty dull these days, should get prime slot over MOTD? How big does he think he is? The beeb rescued his career.

Week 2: Michael quits the BBC over his pea-brained idea that more people would want to watch his show than Match of the Day to start a new talk show on ITV, which features him and John Culshaw fellating each other for 45 minutes. Music provided by Diana Krall.

I hope ITV resurrect 'Give us a Clue' for him.
YES with Lionel Blair.

do ppl really miss old chat show hosts? Or do they merely get all misty eyed and reminiscent about the time when they were on telly? So someone who Loved The Eighties might asscociate their halcyon days with Terry Wogan being on in the early evenings and meebe Terry could be persuaded to come back from Radio 2 to keep such a person's dreams alive.

But is it possible to be good or bad at being a chatshow host. Is Parky any better than anyone else...they announce person, person comes on, they chat for a while, "You've got a new book haven't you?" Tum te tum.

What I found risible (admittedly this was ITV's news bulletin) was that this was any kind of trade off. The show-biz reporter bird was going "yes so ITV may have lost The Premiership, which wasn't deemed a success, BUT it's got Parky! Caloo Callay! Well I'd say we're the winners here, wouldn't you? YES! Back to you Trevor."
Meanwhile Michael Grade's chomping on an extra large Havana in delight. They squeezed every last bit of juice out of the old wrinkled fool, and now, when he's clearly useless, embaressing, and practically leaning on the Reaper's scythe, they manage to get rid.
And it's not them who look foolish.

I really expected something else from the title of this thread.

Parky came to Australia and had a big long bitch about the Meg Ryan interview we hadn't had yet. He made it sound like she was the difficult one.

Then, two weeks later, we got the Meg Ryan interview, and saw who was actually at fault. Nice try at passing the blame, you curmudgeonly old tit.
