Is there any point debating CRW?

This morning, I saw a "Vines are rub" thread, and clicked on to say effectively the first album was merely OK, and if reports are correct, the second album was more of the same done at the time not good enough for the first, so agreed".

Only to find it's a CRW thread that has been locked before it degenerated into the same old name calling / picture posting/baiting.

Now, a lot of what he posts are irritating rubbish. Some have different angles on established touchstones.

Any point asking "just ignore him if he truly bugs you?" (except for anything truly offensive?)

I've mentioned this before, but the Public Enemy vs Sleeper managed to raise some relevant points regarding the relation between the critically lauded versus the commercially popular. Which was fair enough.

As far as de-googling, as I said before: If you say things you do not actually believe, then you have fear. It's not a chatroom where posts disappear, you play devils advocate at your peril, and you play the 'comedy bigot' also at your peril.

Yeah, I agree. Just because CRW's got some dodgy tastes and opinions (even if they are put-on) doesn't mean we should ban him or lock every thread he starts (unless it's proper shite). BUT, sayign that, this place is NOT a free-speech forum, it's owned by people and maintained by people and the moderators are moderators for a reason and I will back their judgement to lock/delete/ban as they see fit.
