President, V.P. Appear In Private Thursday Before 9/11 Panel

http://www.thebostonchannel.com/news/3242131/detail.html

Neither man will be under oath, and no transcript of the session will be made -- again at White House insistence. But McClellan noted both men have sworn oaths upon taking office.

Oh fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you!!!!!!

I see alot of high fiving and back slapping at this. Maybe Cheney can fake a heart attack.

'Alright Dick, if they try and go over the hour mark, start clinching your chest like so, and then..'

'George, get off the floor, your president for christ's sake'

bill stevens (bscrubbins), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 22:57 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm not sure I remember anything in the Constitution about telling the truth before the 9/11 Commission. And the Bush administration, via its Solicitor General, has taken the legal position before the Supreme Court that the government may have a right to lie to the public.

Sworn oath my ASS!

Typical.

But McClellan noted both men have sworn oaths upon taking office.

Oh, I feel much better.

Cunts my/your taxes subsidise, please take responsibility for your (in)actions.

I'm just waiting for them to start calling anyone who wants to see this 'voyeurs' or something.

In related news I was at an art party tonight and got talking to Neil Tennant, le Pet Shop Boy, who expounded at length on his theory that Bush has had cock in unGodly orifici, and walks like a puff ("Now, he's just not fucking the wife, is he?"). I agreed with the whole cock thing but suggested piles were at the bottom of the walk, as it were. He also told me in '99 he met the twins in a hotel in Stockholm - first words out of their mouths was who Daddy was. Nice to know they're keeping that little family tradition alive.

This is name-dropping at its best. In that I'm extremely fucking jealous!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 23:34 (twenty-two years ago)

It's not so much the speaker as what he said. Bless Uncle Neil and all who sail in her, because he is really ace.

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 23:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Golly, I hope Neil's not trying to say that Bush is 'one of us' by being 'one of them'. That's surely a bit like ye average American thinking he's the ideal drinking buddy, or ye Texan thinking he's a Texan. It would be a triumph of Zeligism for a man who actually can't even do his own accent, let alone imitate anybody else's.

Momus (Momus), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 23:37 (twenty-two years ago)

No, NT seemed to find it funny and kind of gross, don't worry, he was also playing up to how disgusting it was while we had the conversation about gay baseball - pitchers v catchers.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 00:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Bush is the ideal drinking buddy. Nothing better than stupid, lonely, rich guys to buy you drinks or coke. And he likes baseball.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 01:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Plus he'll suck you off in your car after you "fail" to "score" with "chicks".

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 01:20 (twenty-two years ago)

But in a completely ironic way, just like when he was back in prep school.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 01:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Exactly. Everyone knows a blowjob isn't really blowjob if both parties ignore it the next morning.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 01:23 (twenty-two years ago)

NT hadn't seen that thing where Bush appeared to fancy the Canadian PM's charming press attaché but when summarised for him he started doing Sebastian the government aide from Little Britain (the character works for the British PM as played by Tony 'Giles' Head and has a big gay crush on his boss). He then went off to this dinner for Yoko Ono with instructions to ask her to confirm or deny the Sarah Lawrence ice-cream myth, which is that the ice cream in the dining hall is paid for by her in perpetuity as a Fluxus art thing.

ANYWAY. I haven't really seen BBC etc. coverage of this secret testimony issue. Ned?

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 07:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Nothing as yet but I don't pretend to watch every outlet -- BBC funded or not. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 13:17 (twenty-two years ago)

every news outlet that talks about the testimony mentions the secret aspect of it, as far as I've seen/heard.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 28 April 2004 13:22 (twenty-two years ago)

The meeting is over. What a fuckin' crock

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 29 April 2004 15:51 (twenty-two years ago)

The Prez is planning on making a rose garden announcement about it. I wouldn't expect much

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 29 April 2004 15:52 (twenty-two years ago)

when will you guys learn that it's OKAY to know famous people? why, I met john leguizamo, at the start of fifth avenue, just the other day.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 29 April 2004 16:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Now that is a misplaced post.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 29 April 2004 16:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Lee Hamilton and Bob Kerrey left the meeting an hour early. What to make of that?

gabbneb (gabbneb), Thursday, 29 April 2004 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

9/11 Commission releases statement calling Bush and Cheney very forthcoming and meeting very valuable. O'Franken reports from one source that they basically admitted being asleep at the switch.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Thursday, 29 April 2004 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Good lord. Did anyone watch Bush's brief meeting with the press in the Rose Garden? It was veritable pinata party of inarticulate vagueries.e

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 29 April 2004 16:53 (twenty-two years ago)

well, i'm shocked¡

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 29 April 2004 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)
