This just in: 2004 is to be cut short. After a three day summer, we are to revert back to winter in what astroboffs are calling "a buggeration of the planetary system". New Years Day is to happen next Sunday when we will go straight into the winter of 2005. Revellers will be disappointed as all New Year celebrations will be cancelled as the Queen has a poorly tummy.

It's only fair that we have a nice British summer this year to make up for the awfulness of last year.

i was half asleep in the car on the way back from france after a business trip when a scottish presenter's voice filtered it's way through my dreams the other week. it said:

"last year we had a very, very hot summer. but this year meteorologists have predicted that it's going to be MISERABLE!"

It filled me with so much hope for the year I can tell you. I really enjoyed last weekend but it wasn't enough. I'm sick of being splashed by cars on the way to and from work, skidding and slipping around on my bike, my hair going lank, sitting around in wet clothes at work and the general frustration of not being able to go outside for fresh air without looking like i had a fight with a fire engine. WHERE IS THE SUNSHINE?!!!

I mean, was this the result of a dream?

What do people think of a scene from a comedy script I've got in the works?

I prefer to use a hammer these days.

Crusha reference gives it a charmingly autobiographical slant

Maybe a less rapey Hammer than that. Lucas Neill will do.
