I find it entertaining and intriguing though that, directly after the Sept. 11th disaster, many preached an "end of irony", and nowadays it seems as if the most common reaction to threats of supposed terrorist attacks is of the ha ha variety. In fact, it seems like irony has invaded every everything. Sometimes I wonder if the government is attempting to be hipster-style "ironic" with all these terrorist threats a la trucker hats.

There were helicopters circling over my house (close to these malls and the federal building) and the news was being obnoxious about it (after a breathless "Breaking News" report - "but these warnings are unstabstantiated, so take it with a grain of salt"), but there didn't seem to be any traffic or roadblocks in the Westwood area this morning. I wonder if it's blown over...

But, like, they can SO take away that grody Stein Mart -- like, whatever! -- and that nasty pizza place where all the old people line up to get that mondo grosso pizza with the totally gross fakey yellow cheese, like, ugh! Oh yeah, and they can totally do away with that EB Games too -- like, oh my Gawd, what were they thinking putting a total geek's paradise in THE MALL anyway?! Like, here's a quarter, buy a clue! RJG, I know about those rumors. Duh. And I found out about this news tidbit near the beginning of this week. I'm not laughing at the possible scenario as a whole but rather am trying to lighten what could very well be a dark situation. Terrorism is around us (something I was well aware of long before 9/11) and it's best not to get too worked up and worried over any possible terrorist plots. I would SO not joke if this happened IRL, just FYI.
