Is there a clear advantage in having a hook instead of a stump? Classic nonetheless..

the landlord of a pub here in Oxford who had a hook died recently. I never went in the pub in question....which is a pity, as I would've liked to see how he managed to pick up the glasses.

Search also the Barbarians, with their hook-handed drummer, and their ridiculous song about him and his struggle with hook-handedness, "Moulty" (set to what is essentially the tune of "Hang On Sloopy."
