My mom calls me to talk about fonts for my sister's wedding invitation:
Mom: Oh, how about this one that's just pictures and symbols? Actually I remember my mom lolling pretty hard about some "It's Raining Men" joke c/o Leno when the Lorena Bobbitt trial was going on. I told her this a while ago and she said, "I must have been sad that day."

Every time my mom sends me a card, she writes a little suggestion inside that the front of the card is nice enough to frame. The most recent one is just an orange card that says "Trick or Treat" on the front. "I thought this was cute decor just on its own – but also cuter in a frame, again – that would be way more than I would do – whew!"

my mother doesn't really say the darndest things she does them. She's legally blind and most recently put scrubbing bubbles in her hair instead of her hair spray.

I call my mom every Sat morning and today she said "I'm at the END of my hair this time, I just have to heat it up" and then there was an elaborate song and dance before we finally arrived at "i need to use the curling iron and i'll call you right back"
