The rolling @d@m FAP thread

I realize that this is a little excessive on my part, but as I mentioned elsewhere, my new job requires me to do a lot of short trips to cities all over the US. I have no idea if I will ever be afforded the time to actually meet with anyone because I haven't tried it yet, but if you feel like meeting me for a hurried drink in some soulless business hotel bar, I may be in some (or none, depending on my schedule) of these cities/counties over the next month and a half:

St. Louis, MO
Houston, TX
Madison County, IL
Somewhere in Delaware

and....errrr, Sacramento. Haha!

If you don't know and where you'll be, you might do better to start a thread for each with the date and location in the title when you find out about them. Expecting people to check regularly in this thread because you might be near them soon may be better in theory than practice.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 13 May 2004 15:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I know, it's pure vanity. And foolishness.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 May 2004 15:51 (twenty-two years ago)

If you come to Portland I will gladly find a big hill to roll you down.

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 13 May 2004 15:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I didn't really want to clutter up the boards with dusty old threads about Boise FAPs and whatnot that would clearly get no repsonse.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 May 2004 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

and...thanks, Chris.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 May 2004 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

any chance of New York?

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 13 May 2004 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll meet you in Boise.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Thursday, 13 May 2004 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

any chance of New York?

Actually, yes. but not yet.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 May 2004 15:55 (twenty-two years ago)

ah cool, keep us posted.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 13 May 2004 15:55 (twenty-two years ago)

any chance of Lincoln, Nebraska?

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 13 May 2004 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Sadly Horace, I'm not actually going to Boise. That was meant to be an example of an FAP that would get little or no attendance.

(x-post, jel, Nebraska is not in Middlesex)

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 May 2004 15:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Where is Madison County, IL?

NA (Nick A.), Thursday, 13 May 2004 15:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Near the bridges.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Thursday, 13 May 2004 15:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Until this thread title, I never realized how much "@d@m" kind of looks like a really pimped out lowrider with the @'s as the wheels.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 13 May 2004 16:00 (twenty-two years ago)

And you're telling me Adam is just planning to stroll into town for a few days and then leave, possibly never to return?

(xpost)

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 13 May 2004 16:00 (twenty-two years ago)

any chance of vienna, c. 1913/1914?

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 13 May 2004 16:02 (twenty-two years ago)

If you're worried about that Archduke I've already hired someone to take care of him.

OKAY!

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 May 2004 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

When are you hittin' up the Lou?

bnw (bnw), Thursday, 13 May 2004 16:50 (twenty-two years ago)

At the moment, possibly May 22nd.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 May 2004 16:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Though it will be confirmed fairly last-minute. Which is why this whole idea probably won't work.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 May 2004 16:53 (twenty-two years ago)

You need something like a reverse-batsignal. Like you roll into town, fire it up, and then everybody knows to meet you on the rooftop of police HQ.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Thursday, 13 May 2004 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

My birthday!

Sorry, carry on.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 13 May 2004 19:02 (twenty-two years ago)

one month passes...
Haha! I only made it to Sacramento of all the above-named destinations. So much for my big plans. Anyway, I'm reviving this thread as I am going to OKLAHOMA CITY in August! I'm pretty sure there are no ILXers there, but this is just so exciting! This yankophile has never yet been anwywhere quite so, well, AMERICAN. At least that's how I imagine it. Will it be a treasure trove of landlocked weirdness? What will I find? Are there Mormons?

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Tuesday, 29 June 2004 21:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I hope that's not a filthy euphemism known only to the most hardcore of Coloradians (or whatever it is that you call yourselves).

I have a friend who lived in Tulsa, and I can ask her, but I don't think she'll have many nice things to say.
