There seems to be a lot of thinking along these lines on ILX at the moment. I find it most disagreeable and its bothering me. Is it bothering anyone else?

MarkH (MarkH), Friday, 14 May 2004 07:54 (twenty-two years ago)

i haven't noticed it!

gareth (gareth), Friday, 14 May 2004 07:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Whenever I lose an argument, I always get my willy out.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 14 May 2004 07:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 14 May 2004 08:27 (twenty-two years ago)

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 14 May 2004 08:29 (twenty-two years ago)

ask the norwegians.

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 14 May 2004 08:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Ask Geir Hongro.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 14 May 2004 08:34 (twenty-two years ago)

i already did. jimmy hill was insufficiently melodic.

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 14 May 2004 08:36 (twenty-two years ago)

and dangle it about like a loony.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 14 May 2004 08:42 (twenty-two years ago)

It isn't a totally unreasonable position, obviously.
depends if the offence is liking Blazin Squad or supporting Hitler.

ENRique (Enrique), Friday, 14 May 2004 08:44 (twenty-two years ago)

or hitler supporting blazin squad.

on one shoulder.

his weaker one.

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 14 May 2004 08:45 (twenty-two years ago)

There are people in Chingford who do both.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 14 May 2004 10:53 (twenty-two years ago)

i just hate everybody. much easier.

Ask For Samantha (thatgirl), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:53 (twenty-two years ago)

That is the way to go.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Friday, 14 May 2004 12:54 (twenty-two years ago)

you'll note that the underlying message for zealots of any stripe (campus protestors, right-wing media types, etc) seems to boil down to the phrase: "Opposing viewpoints are bigoted", which could be where the hatred begins to seep in.

Kingfish Disraeli (Kingfish), Friday, 14 May 2004 13:07 (twenty-two years ago)

You racist.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 14 May 2004 13:09 (twenty-two years ago)

i just hate everybody. much easier.
I haven't met many people I waste that much emotion.

Gingerbread (Gingerbread), Friday, 14 May 2004 14:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I only love you when you do my bidding. All others I hate.

Michael White (Hereward), Friday, 14 May 2004 14:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I haven't noticed this either! (haven't really that many threads mind). I don't hate you at all, even though I'm disagreeing with you.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:23 (twenty-two years ago)

even when I get really pissed off, it's usually about the comment, not the person.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Or the other way round. I hate you therefore I don't agree with you. One can sometimes be justified in hating someone who doesn't agree with them.

Them: I think we should cook and eat you.

You: I don't agree and BTW, I hate you.

But disagreeing with people we hate just 'cause is one of myriad forms of intellectual dishonesty that poison society.

Michael White (Hereward), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Depends on the person. If it's a major issue then someone can think about something in such an utterly wrong way that I think they're a total idiot or that I could never have anything in common with them.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I hate no ILXor.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:33 (twenty-two years ago)

wait I didn't mean on ILX.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:34 (twenty-two years ago)

and we all have one thing in common. Nothing better to do than post here.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Anthony just because I'm battling you over on ILM right now, don't think that I hate you.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:35 (twenty-two years ago)

i hate all you liberal smelly hippie types

bnw (bnw), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:38 (twenty-two years ago)

some people gotta learn the art of indifference

cambridge, Friday, 14 May 2004 15:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't worry, hstencil.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:40 (twenty-two years ago)

art of indifference

That sounds almost Voltairesque.

Michael White (Hereward), Friday, 14 May 2004 15:45 (twenty-two years ago)

alex in NYC to thread.

-- RJG (RJ...), May 14th, 2004. (later)

I resent that,....but I do not hate you for it.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 14 May 2004 23:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Yet another Morrissey thread?

Mary (Mary), Friday, 14 May 2004 23:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Ilx is sort of like Switzerland. Not because it's neutral, but because it has got the greatest knife in the world and doesn't brandish it.

jim wentworth (wench), Saturday, 15 May 2004 03:56 (twenty-two years ago)

We do use the tweezers though.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Saturday, 15 May 2004 13:06 (twenty-two years ago)

the new Swiss knives have a memory stick for yr pooter on 'em instead of the device for getting stones out of horses' hooves.

MarkH (MarkH), Saturday, 15 May 2004 14:02 (twenty-two years ago)

a memory stick for yr pooter

I might rephrase this.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 15 May 2004 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

No, don't.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Saturday, 15 May 2004 14:27 (twenty-two years ago)

"Plenty of RAM action."

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 15 May 2004 14:27 (twenty-two years ago)
