so i know a guy who used to be addicted to drugs...and now he's addicted to God...he was "saved" though so that makes it ok. anyone else ever notice that some people just have to be addicted to something..but people think it's ok as long as it's religion.

Is that Jesus love or animal love?? Don't make fun of Robert Palmer

Frank Swedehead, Friday, 14 May 2004 12:01 (twenty-two years ago)

addicted to God's love. Or addicted to loving crack.

a bunch of people I know lately seem to be joining AA .. (good for them, I suppose) but yeah, I'm noticing that they're replacing one dependency with another (healthier dependency..)

George W Bush - used to be a cokehead, now he's a born-again. Cleaner living for him, but not a big improvement for us....

see: every prison inmate.

Most of the time it's dud but I have to say God doesn't usually kill people (no snarky war comments please I'm talking about individuals. don't be an annoying ass). My little brother was a gangbanger and I absolutely expected him to be dead or in prison before he hit 21. And then he was "saved". As much as I despised his fervernt religion (he once tried to preach to me and I threatened to shove his bible up his ass sideways) it did take him out of a very dangerous lifestyle.

Thankfully, after about four years my brother realized the zealot strip mall churches he got involved with were completely full of shit and he's no longer a jesus freak. I think he is hitting the trees again but no criminal activity so this is good.

When the pendulum swings wide, it swings wide both ways. That's why I try not to have a personality. (HOW'S MY SNORING? 1-888-555-BZAW)

I once worked at a company where the owner, a workaholic, and the general manager, a recovering alcoholic, were an item. The GM bought the owner her first laptop and she was so excited that she could do more work in bed, in the car, etc. My question was "How is that different from her buying him a bottle of scotch?" but it didn't go over well.

i agree w/ rock..people just exchange one bad habit for another...one addiction for another. but it's ok to be addicted to work/food/religion...but not drugs or alcohol...shit i'd rather hang out with a pot head than someone who obsessed over religion or worked all the time

If he were still using we would have invaded Colombia by now.
