Hmmm... a $29 for a DVD or $5.00 for a movie that's in the theaters now that can be played on your home computer even if it doesn't have a DVD player?

sometimes the $5 VCDs have extras, too, like DVDs. for example, sometimes the movie actually works.

Well, I think it's good for one thing: It breaks the film-producing megacorps down. I mean, how interesting is movies today? How many million dollars has Universal Studios put into the horrible (according to the reviews I've read) film Van Helsing? Just because you can spend millions of dollars on wicked computer animated flying thingys doesn't mean you have to.
