Strange and disturbing Star Wars art (large picture thread ahoy)

It could be fan art. It could be professional illustrations. It could be honestly cool. It could just be weird. More than once it is doubtless far too depraved and wrong to imagine.

As a starting point, consider these Czech illustrations by one Karel Kilberger, apparently well known as a book illustrator, done for an edition of some of the tie-in novels. I will only depict one here, as they're all pretty huge -- this is supposed to be Han and Lando rewiring C3PO:

Leia meeting Wookies is equally bemusing.

Ah well, I figured that Han/Lando link might not work -- so here it is.

reminds me of my favorite Czech cartoon, Zdenek Miler's 'Little Mole' ('Krtek')

So in the Czech version of SW they recast Leia with Lily Tomlin?

The Little Mole was this odd cartoon that they used to show on some channel in L.A. when I was a kid (maybe even PBS?). I did some research and it's Czech and was produced in the late 60s/early 70s. That is an actual shot!!! The backgrounds were amazing and the Little Mole is incredibly cute. I've been looking for DVDs and it's finally been released in Japan. I'm working on getting a copy.

Yipes, that's one expensive collection -- over $200 at the current exchange rate.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 15 May 2004 15:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Because I don'tlike StarWars, can I pipe in to agree about how excellent little mole is. I used to watch it a lot when I live in Berlin as a kid. Haven't seen it in a long time though. I vaguely remember being frightened when he got lost in fog (did this happen?)

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Saturday, 15 May 2004 15:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Someone put the mole thingy up on bitt0rrent k thx.

Casuistry (Chris P), Saturday, 15 May 2004 15:52 (twenty-two years ago)
