SYRIA ELEISON

and then if you can recall otherwise disillusioned david kay's (sort of overlooked) assertion:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2004/01/25/wirq25.xml

and if you google "WMD Syria" a lot of articles come up which say it is overstated, Syria is the one trying to curb Israel's WMD, etc. so by my calculations if the CIA doesn't think they have them, or even Iraq's, then they more than likely DO. can't you just flip CIA "findings"/warblings of the corrupt Middle East directly over on their head (or sideways) and generally have the truth most of the time?
I know ANY discussion of WMD has been rendered terminal canard to many of you, but it is something which may have just been dealt with horribly up until now, and for that reason alone it cannot be de-legitimized as potential threat. this is in my opinion obv, but i'm just looking for further info/insight mainly...skool me

Don't forget Sudan!

Stuart (Stuart), Sunday, 16 May 2004 22:11 (twenty-two years ago)

it's just a principle accumulating more and more lately involving the inversion of bureaucratic certainty, the ideas not necessarily being wrong at the start there, just the specific conclusions arrived at. . .and by an almost inescapable array of idiots. wherever U.S. feels there is a threat there's really not, and vice-versa.

duke obviate, Sunday, 16 May 2004 22:25 (twenty-two years ago)

like the idea that WMD has much to do with terrorism, for instance.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 16 May 2004 23:18 (twenty-two years ago)

see that's not how i personally feel. that scenario may be well be playing out IMHO (is it really that much of a stretch?) and i don't feel i can trust the likes of the CIA to detect or do anything about it. and i am in harm's way here in NYC. i am physically beholden to the dulling of Occam's razor by a giant pushed pencil...

duke razor, Sunday, 16 May 2004 23:37 (twenty-two years ago)

everyone else on this board, on the other hand, resides in council bluffs, iowa

gabbneb (gabbneb), Sunday, 16 May 2004 23:38 (twenty-two years ago)

you don't trust the CIA whose instincts told them that there were no WMDs, but you do trust the Bush administration that sold the CIA the faulty intelligence that caused them to sign on?

gabbneb (gabbneb), Sunday, 16 May 2004 23:40 (twenty-two years ago)

giant pencils are already illegal on airplanes, it's cool.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 16 May 2004 23:42 (twenty-two years ago)

don't trust anyone. do believe there is a threat via state-sponsored or what-have-you terror, regardless of administration in office. and if someone in council bluffs had something to tell me about it i would most certainly listen.

(my point was that your trump card can be trumped - i don't think 4th and Lafayette is the highest-profile location frequented by any ILXor)

gabbneb (gabbneb), Sunday, 16 May 2004 23:52 (twenty-two years ago)

i didn't mean it at all as any sort of trump card, just exposition. i LIVE next to a subway station for instance. but thanks for your concern

duke instance, Sunday, 16 May 2004 23:55 (twenty-two years ago)

where did Duke say he trusted Bush, gabbneb

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 17 May 2004 00:07 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, i read him a little too fast, and i'm being a jerk, but i think it's reasonable to infer from his distrust of the CIA combined with his belief that WMDs may well be found that he trusts the admin more than anyone else involved

gabbneb (gabbneb), Monday, 17 May 2004 00:14 (twenty-two years ago)

alright. let's defer inferment til tomorrow. i'm going to bbbbbbbed

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 17 May 2004 00:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Duke - what are you actually saying in that big long introductory paragraph?
