not bad, if a bit scary in a "WE'RE* ALL FUCKED IF THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENS" kind of way.

*where "we" are people who live in London.

they had nice "this is fictional" tags running under the otherwise perfectly normal looking News24 bits...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 17 May 2004 13:36 (twenty-two years ago)

they shd do that on Fox News already.

did the prog look at why we might all be threatened by attack (as TWG did)? or did it kind of just assume that wqe're for it either way? (which might be realistic, i don't know)

it was more a "this has happened, what would the emergency services etc do?" type programme. the hypothesis that we are a major target was assumed (reasonably, i think).

transcript (if yr that bothered ;)):

government not happy about the whole thing (for a change):

I though it were rubbish. I turned it off to watch 15 Storeys High.

my dad reckoned I was being a FULE for going to London last weekend, as everyone knows it's the next target.

My mum's all like, 'why do you want to move to London? It's horrible in the summer, and everybody's going to die.' But thing is the reason I didn't move there when I left home was the terror threat. I went flat-hunting 17 September 2001. But now it's like -- gah, where the party at. Note: pre-WW2 fear of bombing far outstripped the reality (in the UK. Obviously in Germany and Japan it was hella worse).

five years pass...

Surprised there isn't a general Panorama thread.
Anyway tonight's episode is Panorama: Are the net police coming for you?
Monday 15 March at 8.30pm on BBC One. And it's about filesharing.
