Hello, my name is Sarah, and I will be your Alix/Lixi/Caaaaampbell* for today**. I have forgotten my piece of paper upon which I took dicteƩ*** but the gist of it is here foax:

"Hello. I am Alix. It is my birthday soon! Please come to the pub on Monday 24 May, to the Princess Louise from 6pm. You do not have to bring presents or cards, but my flatmate, the lovely Sarah, would always appreciate a small token gesture, just saying like, what?"

So yes. Come out and celebrate, you lot.

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:33 (twenty-two years ago)

good work muffin

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:34 (twenty-two years ago)

bless :)

i'm trying to be a good boy and cut back on the going out, but, hey, who am i kidding?

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:36 (twenty-two years ago)

* you forgot Pickle

(Accursed x-post!)

I'll be there.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:37 (twenty-two years ago)

FAP like every day (night)

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll have you know that whatever we might call each other as terms of endearment* are matters between housemates, Stevem and The Boy DC :)

*yes yes okay, mockery

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:40 (twenty-two years ago)

(it's not mockery at all, they're just trying to look "cool")

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Carsmile, don't SOIXANTE MY NEUF, man!!

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:42 (twenty-two years ago)

* You forgot "fat-handed twat".

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:42 (twenty-two years ago)

i thought everybody called their sidekick Pickle these days

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Too right, Muffin.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Jerry I don't know what you mean. I'd never call Alix a "fat-handed twat"!

It's "fat-handed c#nt".

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:43 (twenty-two years ago)

(i meant trying to look cool by pretending that they were terms of mockery, rather than terms of affection)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Woohoo! FAPping two nights in a row and counting for next week. Starry love, would you like a lemon-flavoured ginger-iced small token gesture of appreciation?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Liz, please note I did not use the term FAP! This thread is actually part of my sneaky campaign to USE NEW WORDS PLEASE :) It's not a "FAP", it's a Pub-A-Long, ta very much. Also yes please to cake fankoo.

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Brewhaha would've been better

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:49 (twenty-two years ago)

It certainly would have been different!

Pub-a-Long has an affinity with the phrase "hop-a-long" though, which amuses me to no end.

Anyway "brew" connotes BEER and Pickle isn't much of a beer drinker, eh.

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:52 (twenty-two years ago)

What about "gin-dig". Like shindig! Do you see?

I'll get my coat.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Gareth tried thisrenaming of FAP stuff and it didn't catch on.

(xpost- the Nipper wins)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:56 (twenty-two years ago)

we could just call them The Reinforcin' O' The Meta

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Good point the nipper! I should have embarked upon a period of consultation before starting this thread so rashly, idiot me eh? I will however point out that when we came up with Pub-A-Long that Pickle and I had eaten LOTS of Kit Kat Kubes (orange AND coffee flavour) and therefore had altered mindstates. I'm telling you, sod yer "mushrooms" and your "courgettes" for Glasters, all you need are Kit Kat Kubes, they make you suffer from MENTAL!

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:00 (twenty-two years ago)

We could call them FAPs.

< / channeling Barry>

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:01 (twenty-two years ago)

THERE ARE TOO MANY FAPS!

Barry L (Matt DC), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes but Dave, have you seen they now have LEMON AND YOGHURT FLAVOURED WHITE KIT KATS?!

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I disapprove of the KitKatKube innovation. BURN THE HERETICS!

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I want to call them FAF75s from now on, because all I want to drink post-Chapel Bar Happy Hour = French 75 cocktails. Mmm gin and champers and lemon, mon DIEU.

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Lemon and Yoghurt white kit kats made me first look askance and feel slightly nauseous. But now I am wanting.

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:03 (twenty-two years ago)

They haf DRUKS in em Liz, we SWEARS! WE swears on... the preciouss!

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:03 (twenty-two years ago)

KITKAT KUBES ARE NOT KUBES, YOU CAN'T BUY BOOTS IN BOOTS

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:04 (twenty-two years ago)

it's all gone a bit shouty. Sarah are you drunken?

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Druks you say...mmmm champagne cocktails...*dribble*

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I can tell that Stevem obviously hasn't been reading any of my posts for the last I dunno FOUR YEARS or so, and isn't used to my writing style, eh? :)

Not drunk but I have just finished a cup of tea. And have kit kat kube hangover, quite poss.

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Not drunk either, but I have a sugar rush from eating 3 Mcvities chocolate caramels - surely the best biscuit in existence.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Lor they're nice. We should take advantage of that happy hour again, I says.

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:07 (twenty-two years ago)

yes ok i'll come to this.

Marcello Carlin, Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:10 (twenty-two years ago)

excellent

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Kappucino Kit Kat Kubes made me come over all peculiar after I scoffed half a bag. Oh, they are not alright.

Ricardo (RickyT), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:49 (twenty-two years ago)

You're telling me. The foul beasts are nearly finished, maybe 2 or three orange ones left unless I scoffed them all this morning in a fit of insania (doo doo doo doo doo).

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 09:50 (twenty-two years ago)

yay! i'm coming...i want to be a PAL.

colette (a2lette), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 10:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Can i point out that i ate hardly any of the KitKat Kubes last night. There are no more left now, muffin. I dashed the empty packet, innit. I did have a bit of an incident with some chili flavour plantain crisps though. That. Was. Fun.

alix (alix), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 12:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Mmmmm plantain crisps. Speaking of filling yr face, would you prefer another flavour of cake to the lemong-ginger one on Monday, Lixi my sweet?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 12:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Seeing as it's your birthday innit.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 12:14 (twenty-two years ago)

NO! That cake was the best! I haven't much of an appetite at the moment so anything i eat has to be stuff i really like, else i can't be arsed.

alix (alix), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 12:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Aw petal. Have some cheese.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 12:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Fuck cheese. I'm all about the eggy bread at the moment.

alix (alix), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 12:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll be at this, of course.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 12:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm there, maybe with bells on

chris (chris), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 12:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I will be made up to see any of yous. What a sap i am. The fucking spacebar doesn't work on this bloody computer.

alix (alix), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 12:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Langwidge, pickel!

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 12:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Fuck you muffinfucker. My brief return to ILX is about to end now, because i am going to the park to listen to dub on a badly tuned radio and sunbathe, and watch little birds in trees and vapour trails and OH MY GOD I AM TWEE, KILL ME NOW. Um. Bye.

alix (alix), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 12:51 (twenty-two years ago)

i gave her Tweerette's Syndrome

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 12:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Is THAT what the kids call it these days?!

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 13:08 (twenty-two years ago)

no it's what i am calling it, and i am a grown mang (who swears a lot but is still somehow vaguely twee)

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 13:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Hur hur. "IT".

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

such a tweease

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 13:30 (twenty-two years ago)

is sunbathing twee?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 13:37 (twenty-two years ago)

no but dub is. mmmh-mmmm.

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 13:38 (twenty-two years ago)

KITKAT KUBES ARE NOT KUBES, YOU CAN'T BUY BOOTS IN BOOTS

Can a cardboard box? NO, BUT A TIN CAN!!!???!!?!?!!?!???!!

Can you buy safes in Safeway? Do Selfridges sell fridges????!?!?!!????!

*cough* sorry.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 14:27 (twenty-two years ago)

um, stevem is making everyone mental. must be because he's a grown mang.

colette (a2lette), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 14:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Wah, Lixi I very much doubt I can make this now, because I am LAME. And that's lame as in unable to walk properly as opposed to lame sad and pathetic. Although I might be that too.

Also a friend of mine had some bad news and I think I need to be in in case he phones rather than in a pub getting pissed. But I am gutted to be missing this anyway, have a good one.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 24 May 2004 07:44 (twenty-two years ago)

OMG, MDC! What's brought that on? Hope you make a speedy recovery and are fully mobile soon. And hope yr mate's OK.

Soz, Lixi, I'm afraid I am only lame in the sad and pathetic sense, so i will be unable to pub-a-long. But I shall be there in spirit.

MarkH (MarkH), Monday, 24 May 2004 07:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Mark, the full story here. I'm hoping to be able to at least hobble through tomorrow's FAP, but I had a bit of a problem getting to the shops last night so trying to get to Holborn and back with added booze complications is frankly just not happening.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 24 May 2004 07:52 (twenty-two years ago)

The immense time-crunch ahead of the in-laws arriving at the end of the week means I doubt I can come for more than the shallowest scoop of Britvic. I feel bad about this cos I haven't missed a Campbell birthday since she was 11 and we all chipped in to buy her a plush monkey full of heroin. Also psyched about the whole Pub-Belong NuThing.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Monday, 24 May 2004 08:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh lor I am tired oot and feeling a bit sickly, but I'll be along, of course. I might be on the RickyT diet of NO BOOZE though...

Sarah (starry), Monday, 24 May 2004 08:40 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm coming, and i'm excited. hooray!

colette (a2lette), Monday, 24 May 2004 08:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you have a webcam?

Sarah (starry), Monday, 24 May 2004 08:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I will be there, and I promise I won't drink too much coke and get all overexcited about physics.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 24 May 2004 08:56 (twenty-two years ago)

So do you think chronic hysteresis is a good term for being caught in a strange time-loop?

Advocate of Lucifer (starry), Monday, 24 May 2004 08:59 (twenty-two years ago)

No!

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 24 May 2004 09:15 (twenty-two years ago)

is anyone going to be there particuarly early? i have business in holburn this afternoon, so will prob be in the area at like 5:30 or something.

toby (tsg20), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I shouldn't be much later than that, but one never quite knows how one's afternoon might be derailed.

Tim (Tim), Monday, 24 May 2004 10:53 (twenty-two years ago)

[insert usual early post here]

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:30 (twenty-two years ago)

And ditto.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Damn, fancyapint.com seems to be down - someone offer directions, please.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:46 (twenty-two years ago)

isn't it just along high holburn from the tube? eg walk straight across the road, carry on about 10 yeards and you're there?

toby (tsg20), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Turn left out of Holborn tube, down High Holborn, its just past Sainsburys on yr left. We had the Glasto ticket/Cozen/no special guests FAP there.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah, I thought that was it. Thanks.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:49 (twenty-two years ago)

eek, the whole of the interweb apart from ILX seems to be not right...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 24 May 2004 11:51 (twenty-two years ago)

ILX has broken the rest of the web. scary.

colette (a2lette), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:08 (twenty-two years ago)

i thinks it's ok now...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 24 May 2004 12:09 (twenty-two years ago)

bump!

Sarah (starry), Monday, 24 May 2004 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

i think i'll come as soon as i'm sick doing the washing up. which could mean 5:30. (but more likely means 7 or so)

colette (a2lette), Monday, 24 May 2004 14:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm so depressed, I wish I could go out instead of being cooped up in this fucking flat with ice on my leg. I might be insanely stupid and do so anyway.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 24 May 2004 15:00 (twenty-two years ago)

get a taxi, then someone without a knackered back can carry you into the pub

chris (chris), Monday, 24 May 2004 15:01 (twenty-two years ago)

There is ice at the pub. On the other hand, furtherly crippled MDC = bad.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 24 May 2004 15:01 (twenty-two years ago)

i can't make this. have fun everybody. happy birthday lixy.

koogs (koogs), Monday, 24 May 2004 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow. I only heard about this, this afternoon. I am going to try to attend.

the bellefox, Monday, 24 May 2004 16:40 (twenty-two years ago)
